With thinking of an AN-line to connect the two sump parts, why not an AN-line from the oil pump to the pickup?
The AN-line connecting the sump parts would need to go below the rack, that's pretty low. |
Our initial idea was using a -16 AN line, but the concern was that any soft line could potentially collapse on itself since oil is being sucked through it. The hard steel pickup will be safer, cheaper (eventually), and the material will mirror every OEM pickup we’ve seen.
We are not concerned with the pump priming, as nearly the entire pickup will be submerged in oil anyway. |

I don't believe you will have any issues with the oil pump pick up routing as you have it. Cant remember the Ford small block that had this same oil pan design to clear the steering rack but it must be the 5.0 Mustang and that was a factory design.

So, ebay exhaust with random pieces off other cars, hacked up ebay header, and random 2.75" intake pipe I found in my garage with a crappy filter. Proper setup will breath MUCH better up top, as I can tell you from my other K car. PS - I enjoy driving on track with your old blue hatch on occasion... |
I have my old custom 3" exhaust that Jeremy put together for my setup you could use. Vibrant muffer, magnaflow (i think) resonator. If you didn't want its unique center exit format, would just be a bit of cut/weld to complete.
Cheap... and old Jabaay fabwork. Uses this muffler: http://vibrantperformance.com/catalo...products_id=14 |
