Spec miata isn't "very high rpms"- it's factory rpms with a stock 1.6L factory rev limiter. Bouncing off the stock rev limiter with no boost isn't really known to kill oil pumps.

Also, aren't EP miatas dry sumped? How would they blow oil pumps if they are running a dry sump?

reading must be hard for you.. did you miss or ignore the ep and gt class cars?. and no i was on a team who ran a ep fc rx7 Ep doesn't mean you run a dry sump. i don't think many cars did if any. i never saw one.

I was adding to the post made by EErockMiata immediately above mine.

Your absolutely pointless choice to become disrespectful will earn you some other type of points. You have continuously been an arrogant *** throughout this thread and we don't need you. Maybe you need 90 days to think about your attitude.

Good job!

If you keep trying, someday you'll make 1.8 power!

Wait, this is on a built 1.6 turbo? lol

Those are mustang dyno numbers for a log manifold and 40 trim china charger on wastegate for a 1.8L

I'm totally jealous of the boost, however.

Falling off of a torque peak of ~200 from 5500 rpm up says the 1.6 can't breathe as well as it should. Needs bigger something. I'm thinking engine.

The 1.6 has smaller head ports and more restrictive intake, iirc.

Well, now we have the answer to the original question: Max rpm on my build?

No need to rev past 6800 because no more power anyway.

And no power below 4K either, but that is another story.

Gt2560r
newest fm manifold
ported and polished head with oversize valves
stock intake mani
im thinking that the intake mani needs to change to a custom unit. looking at options including making a sealed itb unit
the six speed really helps keep me in the power .
help with this besides "saying change to a 1.8" is very welcome. My aim is the 280 to 335whp range

since you're so dead set on polishing that turd, then yeah next step would be tb/im/cams. Then replace the log FM manifold because it's crap compared to a properly built tubular mani, and there's at least a couple hundo rpm worth of spool there
