Really, I hadn't heard. What size engine did the 2001 Miata come with? 
In all seriousness, the ZM peaked my interest a few years ago for use in a NASA PT or SCCA STL application. It's 1.6l displacement but (apparently) with the VVT and port shapes of the later head. Sort of a neat frankenstein. Obviously garbage for street FI builds, but it (potentially) has its place.

He was spamming "timing bends rods" over and over and I challenged him on it.
I said timing itself doesn't bend rods, and he and he dumbass fanboy couldn't argue me directly resorted to insults and I banned them.

More fuel for the fire. One of the guys on the festiva forums has been having him do some work. Car made 374 on the dyno not sure who was tuning it. 
Made a pass car sounded like it was blowing spark out flooded the engine with fuel until it banged the rod out the block. I've got another motor I'm going to plug the oil squirters and space my oil pump and Carlos is making me a new harness. Hopefully be back in a week or 2
Too much oil leaves the pan when you are pushing the oil pump at 7500 rpms. I have heard all the stories too about the squirters but Carlos runs this setup on his 575hp bp. He has never slung a rod only cracked a piston @45lbs but at those numbers I can see the stock Pistons having issues. Trial by fire.
I just got my Carlos'd bp let the work begin. Removed the mbsp too. All we can do is let it rip.
Blew the new motor. Probably be down for a min. Gotta build a motor or find 1. something is wrong with my harness or injectors. So I guess I need to start over. I'm becoming less enthused about this. Shogun sitting in the driveway doesn't help.
I doubt it's the engines fault at this point. Same broken rod.

That long list of quotes reminds me of this newbie on the Mazdaspeed scene called 1source...I recommend you look at his page and get a few laughs for yourself. Gouged porting jobs...powdercoating that gets inside the inlets of turbos...etc.

I mean I am not surprised by this. We know the stock pistons are pretty beefy. I think when most people go into the motor the do rods and pistons because at that point the cost benefit just ends up in favor of throwing in pistons. I am planning on doing a rods only build with stock 94 pistons and a 99 head. It will be running a TSE setup most likely for a good bit of its life. I am hoping to break 300hp with it.
