well we made 330 on G's setup that's pretty similar to yours
woulda kept going if it didn't break up past 18psi due to coils

that's right. 18psi tuned his car to 18psi

having us berate you when youre being a cheap ******* when it comes to crucial parts is how we help and guide.

he's using a hose specifically designed to carry transmission fluid, unsure how it will handle motor oil.

It's just such a gamble on such a critical part. If it fails, you'll lose the turbo and possibly the entire car to fire. Oil supply parts are cheap, I can't believe someone would go out and try to turbo their miata without even having sourced the oil parts yet, then resort to going to a junkyard for a MacGyver fix instead of just getting parts you'll never have to worry about. SS hoses not only protect you from bursts (1000psi operating level) they protect the hose from being punctured if it rub against something in the bay. They also have a higher operating temperature than most plain hoses.

To be fair this guy is trying to do a $500 turbo build, but its just silly.

I highly doubt his target situation was to have anyone berate his endeavors. That was the choice of others.

Are you referencing his brake fitting or the hose? I've never seen a hose that was specified for a petroleum biased fluid that wouldn't work with another.

He isn't turboing a Miata at all, he is working with FWD BP platforms.

So your only concerned about his safety?

Thoughts on his clever use of a EVO ecu? It's about 50% the cost of a megasquirt.

I recall a situation a few years ago on K20a.org where specific moderators had vested interest in bashing a certain company that did not end well.

You missed the part where they changed the subject away from BP Performance and started talking about a dude on facebook that's literally trying to turbo a Miata on a budget.

That's the literal thing he is doing. I'll repeat again... he's turbo'ing a Miata on a budget lol

FTFY.

Sure, at room temperature and ambient pressure, the hoses might be equivalent. But a transmission fluid environment is not the same as an engine oil environment. Temperature and pressure are part of what hoses are rated for.

It's just plain stupid to run your engine oil through a hose not rated and specifically designed for it.

he came into MY group and started saying dumb things over and over like "timing bends rods". So I dunno, sounds like he was asking for it --especially since it was after I had to tell him to spot spamming every single post in the stupid FB group with links to his shitty videos and website.

You like taking gambles with engine oil?

reading comprehension.

Cause I'm really scared of some shitty company I've never heard of and never will from again, unless people come here complaining their 600hp BP from BP blew up from timing.
