Blaen: That's what everyone wants to see on the squaretop too, what kinda boost you making?

I also kinda wish we had a stock, unmodified plenum on an intake with the only work being the hump removal.. But would it be so hard to line drill the long runners and install some butterflies? Like, right at the start of the long runners maybe a half inch in on the bottom section?

stop? Stock?

What do you mean long short vics?

You talking about my post?

This was my design however its not enough. Gotta get some aluminum brazing rods and add on to my idea.

As you can see this is where i went through.

Let me mspaint ****.

This is pretty much what I meant, add in a second butterfly and remove the wall blocking off the shorter runners. Obviously the second runner would need to go wherever it fits best. Assuming the performance wasn't asstastic you could fine-tune the performance by putting spacers between the manifold top/bottom and the manifold and the head. Pretty sure this is what Brain was talking about too.

of all the ones above, I'm betting the "gutted", if the VICS valve is used, proves the best results.

Super long runners for low-rpm torque, and then short runners above XRPM for high-rpm torque.

what if you replace the plenum with an MP62 and the short runners with a TRUBOCHORGER.

You see the main problem with the gutted setup is that the short runners end up being too short and lift up the power band in the S2000 rpm category..

I agree we need to add extentions to the shorter runners for the best effect. Something in the 8 inch range for total runner length I think if we can fit it.

Well, I'll be at 8500rpm for this testing Triple, so if someone provides that mani, I'd be happy to test it.

My main thing is i want to keep the vics in tact. I just want to raise the target rpm for the primary runners.

I'd like to get a VTCS and a Flat Top manifold confirmed for this if I can find people willing to contribute for comparison's sake.

I've got someone that may be willing to provide a Honda manifold as well for testing purposes.

I'm going to send out a call 2 weeks before my tuning session for all the IMs for people that have PM'd me, except for Pinky. (I'm going to use Pinky's IM flagrantly for figuring out the best way to swap IMs on the dyno the fastest/easiest.)

If you want yours included, please PM me. I'm still looking for a flat top and a VTCS if someone would be so kind.

I've got a VCTS manifold off a '04 MSM with the VCTS butterflies removed and holes epoxied that I can send for testing as well, but I'll definitely need it back. Want me to throw it in the box along with the modified VICS one we talked about?

I'm sending my modified VICS for testing, we'll know soon enough.

I don't think that is true, the long runner will still have an impact on the flow of air into the head, and its presence may induce turbulence that could be disruptive to overall flow.

yeah youre right, better to source a set of flappers, a second actuator and relay, develop a plate between the upper and lower for the flappers to sit and spend the countless hours/money making it work over a bit of extra turbulence, espeically considering turbulence won't come into play with any of the other modified ones...

Sounds good. No problem getting it back to you whatsoever, but be sure to pack them well Pinky!

One disclaimer: If it doesn't use the stock tps/etc., I won't be able to test it.
