Copy and pasting images into the editor has never worked, but this start crap is very annoying.

aidandj 01-25-2019 10:19 AM

It definitely used to work.

Jesse99James 01-26-2019 07:26 PM

I don't know about anybody else but blurry images are back again. I reset my modem, router, and had my ISP reset from their end...only an issue on this damn website.

I also agree infinite scroll is terrible, this isn't Tumblr!

User control panel -> edit options -> lazy loading

You can also disable infinite scrolling there.

Thanks, I had already disabled infinite scrolling within minutes of experiencing it. I hadn't noticed the lazy loading option...drives me crazy seeing blurred images as I scroll.

For those reading this at a later date, I'll add: User control panel -> edit options -> lazy loading -> save changes

sixshooter 01-29-2019 12:40 PM

It is difficult to make new posts because posting pics deletes text and, as a moderator, I'm regularly cleaning up posts of others in the wrong threads due to infinite scrolling.

Traffic on the site seems to be down. Please switch it back.

concealer404 01-29-2019 01:13 PM

Hey guys i just wanted to know if any of you were aware of a Miata-specific forum that didn't have all these things that seem to be geared specifically towards making a forum as hard to use as possible?

I found ClubRoadster, owned by AutoGuide, i may give them a shot. They seem to have a good handle on how to make a forum functional.

Traffic is up in threads like this one!

sixshooter 01-29-2019 01:45 PM

You mean functional as in the way Miata Turbo was even a few short months ago? That must be refreshing. I bet traffic has really increased at that functional Miata site lately (I don't have an account there to view the traffic numbers).

There seems to be a bit of irony in the fact that internet brands was trying to bolster the page views to sell this forum or sell advertising on it and ended up fucking The Forum so badly that attendance dropped. AND it probably cost $3.50 for the three hours spent by the programmers in Bangalore, lol.

Thank you! That image loading crap was driving me nuts.

Joe Perez 03-12-2019 09:30 PM

@Robb M. , please make it so that what I see in the message composition window matches what happens after I post. (Note indent and line-feed on bullet-list items)

https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mia...085eeded29.png

EDIT: also please make it so that if happen to click somewhere in the message composition window after clicking "upload" from the image uploader, before it's finished uploading the image, it doesn't blow away all of the text I've previously typed. This is a relatively new (past 1-2 months) problem.

TheScaryOne 03-12-2019 10:00 PM

Is MazdaRoadster still solid? I never really got in with the club roadster crowd, although there is some great tips over there, like using plastic weld and acrylic tube to replace broken plastic screw standoffs, or a DIY on a KG Works style cluster for 1/10 the price. IIRC the guide for drilling my control arms for zerks was over there too.

That is annoying, it is probably related to our attempts to fix the indent issue. We've had a couple of things steal the priority points recently, but fixing the editor once and for all is in the works.

I thought that we had fixed the uploading images displacing text this week. Are you certain?
I can't seem to make this happen. How are you clicking in the message editor before the image uploads?

double pasting issue seems to be gone now.... weird. double pasting issue seems to be gone now.... weird.

Savington 03-14-2019 03:38 PM

So.

If I type "<$" into the in-thread WYSIWIG editor, it deletes everything after that pair of characters.

If I type it in the post box at the bottom, no problem.

If I go to the advanced WYSIWYG editor, no problem.

If I type a novella of advice to a member here in the in-thread WYSIWIG editor, including a suggestion that he order a part which is "<$150 from XXX vendor", it deletes my entire post, infuriates me, makes me come and find this thread, tag you, and generally be less inclined to continue to participate in discussions on this forum.

More abject fuckery from your baristadevs.

@Robb M.

Braineack 03-14-2019 04:05 PM

"<$"

might be some shortcode that confuses the system.

I agree that the editor is taking it as some code string. I can't 'lose' my text though, it just won't submit the post, my text is all still in the editor. Is your experience different?

Braineack 03-15-2019 11:58 AM

it deletes everything after the <$ opening tag. so if there's nothing before it, the post will technically be empty...

Robb M. 03-15-2019 12:03 PM

for me, it doesn't submit the post, all my text is still in the editor. I can't seem to actually have the text 'deleted', I'm not able to submit a post with that string at the beginning of it.

Having same issues. Logged out and back in. Cleared cookies. I know there are posts happening because i'm getting texts about them, but i can't view them. The newest post i can view on this site in search results was made at 6:42pm. Searching "new posts" gives me the same results (even down to the search number) every time, before and after log out/in.

Good job. Super broke.

I'm going to go hang out on another forum now.
