When are they going to release the ******* patch so I can play!!!??? This is retardation on a whole new scale. A shooter game where the shoot button doesn't work. Then they are slow about releasing a patch to fix it. It should be simple code, which shouldn't have gotten past them in the first goddamn place!

I am one of the unlucky people who have a game error where the left mouse button doesn't work. Something in the coding of the game. Even if you remap the "fire" button to a keyboard button, it won't work. So on the first mission where you kick into the back of the train, I just get my *** shot to death. Quite a few people with this issue. Some fixed it by unplugging their joystick, but I don't have one plugged in...

Funny, if you look at the 6950 2gb vs 6950 1gb they aren't really that different. Actually, the 1gb outperforms in one of the test. Either way, the performance isn't that much different for the 2gb and that's why I just linked the first one my mouse pointed to. And again, either way one 6950 2GB still doesn't compare that well to the GTX580. My point being, it's a bit more than a "few frames". I apologize, I don't mean to argue schemantics, just thought people would find the anandtech link helpful.

And yes, 2 6950s in CF are a better bang for the buck if you are looking at frame rates only.

Cliff Notes: If you look at metrics other than FPS a single GTX 580 can outperform 2 6950s in CF. I seriously recommend reading that article, it's made me a bit leary of CF and SLI now...

Got a few hours of playing in this morning. Smaller team deathmatch games seem reasonable and I usually have a decent score and today had a nice string of wins going. Once I get into a Rush game or another bigger game with vehciles everything goes to sh*t and I'm always on the r-tard team...

I'm guessing when MW3 comes out I'll be wishing I hadn't spent so much money on BF3...

My fan never spins fast then the idle spin speed. should do more OCing seeing as i have more cooling then i need.

 

I have the same heatsink and I used to see 60C on my Core 2 Duo 2.13 @ 3.47GHz. Threw in a core 2 quad and it barely peaks at 45C. Gotta love the TDP of newer procs. So...just curious...I have a Core 2 Quad @ 2.8GHz (waiting on mah RMA'd RAM to resume OC) and I'm seeing 90-100% CPU utilization on all 4 cores in game, you guys have similar results? I had to buy a QC just to play. Couldn't get above 25fps no matter what with the dual, surprised me how limited this architecture is already.

 

Pretty much. I enjoy it, but it's certainly not living up to the hype (big ******* surprise!)

I found out, I did indeed have my joystick hooked up, so that is why my game was freaking out. It's still an issue though, can't use both mouse and joystick at the same time. Oh well, the game is at least a fun distraction for when I'm bored.

I'm getting tired of multiplayer already. If I had decent players to play with, it would be fun. Instead my team is always ******* retarded, running and gunning, charging in and getting themselves and me killed. giving away our location by wildly firing at people WAY out of range, again, getting us killed. Driving vehicles into a cluster **** of tanks, armor and engineers and getting us ******* killed... again. Flying the planes and choppers into the ground... killed. No one plays with any ******* real world tactics, just run and gun and bullshit. I wish there were a shock collar you had to wear with this game. For every time you die, you get a nice little zap, so people would think twice about carelessly running and gunning, and would actually care if they get killed or not. I hate being in my spawn area and find an enemy guy running through to kill me before I have a chance to even get my bearings. Stay on your own ******* side douche! No one in a real war would just go off by themselves into the enemy stronghold and start firing wildly... To rant a little more, I can't even ******* count the number of times this goddamn game has spawned me right in the middle of a fire fight, or right next to a few enemy guys hanging out behind a wall or something. One match I probably had 6 or 7 deaths just from spawn deaths. Infuriating!!!

 

^Because it's a game. COD will be worse.

 

I guess I'll have to go back to the far more expensive hobby of paintball if I want to simulate combat without dealing with a bunch of 13 year old kids running and gunning... oh wait, they play paintball too. ****!

I had to do the step listed in update 2 at the bottom to make my own 6970 bios as the Sapphire 6970 did not work for me.

Well my PSU finally gave out after 4 1/2 years of constant use :(. Giving me a red led light on the back. I can probably RMA it, but I already ordered a new PSU, hopefully it'll be here soon :(.

 

I had to buy a fresh video card and PSU to play this, Id say it was worth it.

I am one of those ******** who runs and guns when I get annoyed at the game, sneaking around back, and shooting everyone in the back of the face. It works pretty well, and also gives you a chance to get rid of those awful mortars.
