not mine. i believe it was on this car: http://www.miata.net/motm/2005/moti.html no joke. but for $380, it's really hard to beat unless the rotors are completely thrashed... |
Good god.. those would be on my car right now if he lived in KC... Sucks. I don't trust EFTs for something off craigslist..

seller deleted his listing.... What ever happened to someone making brackets so we could use rx7 calipers?
|
Someone was selling the RX7 setups on ebay but did not get enough interest I dont think

I've tried to research what was required to use those, but never could find anything. I'd be interested for sure. |

Well I'm interested for sure too... |
If I had one to "look at" I'm sure that a cad drawing would appear that I could have replicated here locally... :)

I'm pretty sure those Japanese brackets are pretty pricey and are hard to get. I'm looking at making custom brackets to put them on my car, but have been to busy to get too into it. If someone was offering them for sale, I'd be all over them.

That reminds me to pull the calipers off my FC shell before I sell it.. It seems simple enough, surprised that nobody has made them.

I might tackle this..... I have both an NB and an NA. so I could have brackets done for 1.6 and 1.8 cars..... or done around NB sport package brakes (if I pick up some front rotors...
My Fab guy is crazy good..... I'll talk to him and see if he's interested. I may do it for my car anyway, but It would depend on interest to see if I'd have em manufactured.... He also Has Brembo calipers lyin around, both from STI's and Evo's if that might be a better solution???? |

Part of the reason to go with the wilwoods is like 11 lbs of weight loss divided amongst the 4 corners. Something like that anyway, remember reading something like that by emilio. |
A lot of people who do this swap use VW corrado rotors. I believe they are about the same size as the FC rotors. Fitting the caliper under 15" wheels shouldn't be a problem, as the FC can with 15's. If you need some calipers to fab up a bracket let me know. I've got a few sets sitting in my garage.

Fastbrakes makes a kit for B13 & B14 Nissan's that used to use the Corrado rotor. For some reason they're using a different rotor now, not sure why. And it's redrilled which is a bummer, because the Corrado's are nice and cheap, and readily available.
It's pretty odd that Fastbrakes doesn't make a kit for Miata's. I actually have a brand new Fastbrakes 11" Nissan kit that I'm selling, now that I'm moving over to a Miata. http://sr20.net/d/70668-2/IMG_1184.jpg C |
OK, I'm thinking we go with the stock sport package brake rotors.... I'll need to talk to my guy on tuesday, and then go from there.
Building the brackets one by one would be costly and time consuming.... so I need to find a way to have them produced in a quantity after the fact... |
And what size are the sport pkg rotors?
C |
90-93 9.3"
94+ 10" sport 10.6" corrado 11" FC 10.9" (I believe) |
Corrado rotors are very inexpensive. I don't know how the thickness compares to the sports, but if it's similar, they might be a good way to go.
