Definitely interested in FC brake upgrade, I joined the forum for it!

Jake, I'm in central FL too if you need a guinea pig.

Keep me posted, thanks!

Guys i think someone type wrong information earlier.

As far as I know the sport package(what I have) has the same size brakes at the all other NB's. It was the LS package with the 16" wheels that had the larger rotor.

Correct me if I am wrong.

The 01+ "big" brakes are often referred to as sport brakes

Braineack 01-24-2008 08:44 PM

omg i want.

hustler 01-24-2008 09:31 PM

I wish I could use these 12.3" TT rotors I have. :(

I always thought the sports were hard to find and pretty pricey. Where did you pick them up at?

Did you get the rears too? how much and from where?

I gave $150 for used rotors and pretty thick oem pads with calipers for the front. I already picked up a set of hps and blue's for the street and track, and I'm running 1.8l standard rears with hp+ on the street and track with the wilwood in-car bias adjuster. I was overheating the hp+ in the rear on my 1.6 at 94whp, hopefully the larger 1.8 rear will get the job done so I have 4 less pads to swap for the track.

I haven't put any heat in these yet to know how it works considering I'm still on the stock 1.6.

^ interesting set-up you have.Let us know how well it works once you get a good track day out of them.

I myself am trying to find the 01+ sport brake rears.

they're really hard to come by. Most of the time you can only get the front sport because people switch to wilwoods, so don't get your hopes up.

^ If I cannot find the rear sport brakes,my last option will be to order the Goodwin racing billet caliper brackets.

a bet a little dryer ducting with hp+ would get the job done on standard 1.8 rears.

mx5roadster 01-26-2008 09:27 PM

Jake,

Any rough estimate on when the brackets will be done?

MX5Kuro 02-08-2008 06:05 PM

Nothing fun :(
Using a CMM on the hub and then hammering out the final dimensions. Day-jobs getting in the way.
