Corrado rotors are .865" thick, still looking for specs on the sport rotors.

Looks like the FC rotors are .865" thick as well.
|
there's a post on m.net a long time ago about what was necessary to make the corrado rotors work.
|
maybe the title of this thread should be changed.
I'm interested as well, I have stock 95 brakes with hawk blues and they work very very well but it couldn't hurt to upgrade right?? |
Will Escort GT caliper brackets fit for the 1.8 brake swap on a 1.6? Or just Miatas?
|
maybe we could have the "off topic" parts moved to a new thread?

From what I read somewhere the original Miata "Big Brake Kit" from Goodwin used the Brembo/Wilwood set-up for the Corrado modified to fit.
Then they got around to making the Miata kit. |
So all you need is the FC caliper, bracket, and rotor, then just redrill the rotors to 4x100 and they're bolt on?!?

Yeah, that would work. The bracket has to be custom made to fit on the miata hub though

airbrush1, if your fab guy wants to make a few extra sets, I'll take one.
|
What happened to the ones from the 929?
Wasn't someone from here working on that project? |
what I'm thinking is I get 1 set made/welded by hand.... and then go from there as far as getting copies made by a competent machine shop.... I'll need the first set done first though, so don't get all happy yet.
Also, if this works out and I can get em made up, I'll go through the the correct channels for a group buy. I'm talking with my guy tomorrow. We'll see if he has the time to do it, and what my out of pocket would be for the fab work, and go from there. If it's too expensive I may not do it, there's also the issue of what he would make off of any sets I had made, since he would be responsible for the design and fab work. ooh, and could someone MIC a sport package rotor for me if they have one layin around? |
i have access to a manual mill and pro/e. if someone were to give me the necessary dimensions (caliper offset, locations of the holes for mounting the caliper as well as the holes for the spindle mounting tabs) i could probably rough something up.

Wasn't someone from here working on that project? I thought the popular part from the 929 to swap over was the mc/booster? Never heard anything about the calipers. |
Here is the company in Japan that makes the brackets:

odd.... it looks as if things need to be ground off....
also it seems as if people have issues related to how much fluid the MC can push.... However it doesn't seem like the available big brake kits come with upgraded master cylinders.... |
