You might need to add more pins behind the headlights, dzus fasteners at least.

2nd picture for an idea. It looks clean and would only cost 10-15 dollars from the hardware store.

Someone asked for underhood shots. I forgot to peel off that red tape before riveting it down... I have some TB clearance issues up front so the vent is pretty far forward. It looks like a good spot for airflow with it being right behind the radiator. The hood is stiff enough that I'll probably not reinforce it, but it flexes a bit when raising and lowering. You can shave off some of the honeycomb area if you want another 1/4" of clearance. I might do that if the hose clamp on the TB coupler rubs.

Ha, I had one of those Ford vents on my Civic.

I didn't put a whole ton of thought behind my choosing of the location for it, I just ballparked where the low pressure zone on the hood "should" be and stuck it there. Plus with it being FWD, it was also ventilating the hell out of the turbo that was cooking my hood.
Ignore the dryer duct, it was temporary. Car was my DD and had to drive it to work while I finished the actual 4" intake.

I don't know if you consider this DIY since I installed a pre made set of louvers but here is my hood.
The louvers are made by this company.

Thanks guys. Through a PM from a fellow swap member, I think a Carbontrix hood vent might be the solution after seeing the thread Levnubbin posted. Apparently, "extraction hood" brings up a better idea of what I was after.
Hoping the hood will come out about like this. The bump in the vent should intensify the venturi effect, helping to pull the air out of the radiator.

Im really liking his hood louvers. and bumper naca duct intake thing. ive been looking into ways to cut up the bumper but make it look good too.
I already have the mini scoop reversed just want to get some more air in/out on the driver (supercharger) side.

Also want to get more air flowing thru the intercooler which it seems like a hole in the bumper will be the best solution to doing so...

They make ones that look like wing nuts that will create a tiny amount of aero drag but at least a corner worker can open the hood. Always need to plan for the worst case scenario.

Where are you guys getting these GT500 vents? I keep seeing references to a $32 or $54 price on other forums, but best price I can find is closer to $64. PN is AR3Z-16C630-AA if that helps anyone.
For refrence, my local Ford stealership parts dept wants $128

Ooo, very nice! Props for posting pics and datalogging with airflow indication filament
Last image appears to be a screencap from a video, possible its posted somewhere?
DAMN YOU FORD! DAAAAMN YOUUUUU!!!!
I've been thinking about picking up an extra hood and a '500 vent, mostly for the funsies. My car needs a 3rd panel of a different color before anyone will take it seriously anyway.

This thread and others like it on other Miata sites and the S2000 forums led me to doing some hood vents. I did one large one right behind the radiator and before the engine block and some triangular venting on the driver's side. They will be painted black so they don't look so ghetto. Disregard the black stripes, we did a vent on my buddy's AE86 hood and he painted them on while forgetting my hood is aluminum and will not rust. My whole car is being painted soon so that will be gone. So far we have both noticed a reduction in fumes in our cars and watched the heat pour out of there while we drive. My buddy reports reduced drag, but I think that's all in his head

I didn't pay attention to all the low/high pressure ****... mine works - maybe not the MOST effecient but works none the less... it always lets me know when I have a loose (likely missing) flange bolt as I puff smoke out the vent during decel - sucking oil through bad exhaust valve stems - or the journal bearing.
