Don't need no stinkin' gauges...
At least for me, I just payed the $65 for his oil pressure sensor so that I'm sure it would be calibrated to the unit. Might save a few bucks locally but I didn't think it was worth it. I didn't want to mess with not having accurate oil pressure.
One more thing for those that are interested, of the eight parameters that can be chosen, EGT must be one of them even if you don't use it, so really you get to choose 7 more.
i've already got an AEM wideband and sensor, but for the EGT, does a universal sensor work for that? or do i need to buy the one with the kit?
now if the car isn't using a stock ECU, is that an issue? I've got the 96 LINK ecu in the car

%99.9 all egt sensor usable
(but egt sensor not be share, just connected to maxidisplay)
and not important ecu because we dont direct communication with ecu
just need RPM out signal enough

want to talk about alarms
@stein, What is the thought of you?
Here are the features of the alarm function
Standard alarm functions that come with MaxiDisplay:
EGT
Minimum Oil pressure
(linked to rpm.. if engine is off oil pressure alarm is disabled)
Shiftlight rpm (Blue led)
Water temp
All alarm on-off toggle
Some customers may want the following features:
Low oil pressure alarm @ over 3500 rpm
(Engine may be running at over 3500 rpm, but how about oil pressure?)
Maximum Oil temp
(is it necessary?)
Minimum oil temp
(Car is ready to race when yellow LED turns off
requires a third yellow led)
Turbo boost alarm
(I don’t think this would be necessary)
Fuel tank level indicator
(when input from fuel tank is used, yellow LED will blink if the tank is under the 15 % level)
(need details for the fuel level sensor)
Air-fuel "lean" alarm
(If you have a wideband O2 afr input, I can preprogram an alarm)
when turbo is over 1 bar or 0.8 bar but AFR is lean (over 13) the alarm will sound.

I would like user-settable alarms for
low oil pressure over 3000 rpm if possible, if not 3,500 is OK
high oil temp
high water temp
lean AFR
I am not concerned about low fuel, min oil temp or turbo boost alarm.
