is it important to no "share" air from the oil cooler to the radiator? I've drawn some **** I wish i could post.
bascially I want to make a 3" air dam with a a splitter secured to my begi scooper, then cut a hole in the dam the width of the scooper with the oil cooler in there with 2 NACA ducts hidden inside for the brake ducts.
Think of the c6r bumper incorporated into the air dam:

I've thought about putting the oil cooler in front of the scooper mouth, on the sides between the radiator and fmic, or bridging the gap between the fmic and rad. Or I could just chop a hole bader style, which looks fine if you ask me.

The hole I punched in the bumper was made with two 3-in hole-saw cuts, filed then trimmed with a rubber gasket. As a protective measure I then used JB Weld to secure SS mesh behind the opening to keep rocks from being ingested at speed...
(If you are interested, I have *plenty* of SS mesh left over. I had to order 12-sqft to get the gauge/gap I wanted...)
But to answer your original question, the heat bleed off from your oil cooler shouldn't be significantly detrimental to your radiators. The independant cool air feeds I am using are for extended, high speed, South/West Texas events.

I plan on running my car just as hard, at lower speeds. I may not get out of 4th on the 1.3 at MSR, and I'll have the needle in the red the whole day.
I want to keep the sleeper look, we'll see what happens. I'd like to avoid cutting the r-pack lip, but right now that looks like the easiest and most effective option. Its the right height, already has brake ducts...but its so pretty in stock form. I don't know that i can bring myself to chop-up $200 like that.

If that's like the track dog splitter, just attached to the air dam it isn't likely doing much. If it's fabbed farther back so it works as an undertray it's helping by smoothing the air flow under the car.
To be large enough to have a significant downforce effect (really a decrease in lift) it's gotta be pretty darn big and strong as hell. Figure something that's doing much work might be taking 100+ lbs of force. That takes a pretty strong mount and material. Over at the corner carvers site they basically say you need to be able to stand on it! Yowza.

It goes as far back as the stock belly pan and its just as wide. I hear ya on it being strong enough to to create down force.

Nice! That's my plan for the one I'm building. Splitter/undertray. I'm also thinking about further smoothing under the body and a rear diffuser. Not sure whether to use ABS or just go with galv. sheet metal underbody. Gotta create enough air movement with vents to keep drivetrain from getting too hot.
