So miata.net got a new sponsor and they are selling G-style lips. Seems to be made out of a MUCH sturdier material. Thus... no exploding lips when you hit something.

Mine is already on the way... paid yesterday and its already on UPS truck.

Anyways... they are offering a 20buck coupon for them also.

Mine will be here Monday... I'll try to document it for you guys. Fitment exactness will be tough to judge though as my bumper is a shell and deformed from abuse already.

Knock on wood my GV lip has not cracked or shattered yet. And I have hit it pretty good a few times.

Makes me wish I did not have that new GV lip spoiler hanging in my shed.

 

You can still sell it. There's obviously a market for the real thing.

Lame to do a direct knock off. Good to offer a reasonable price and more durability. Hope they can develop some of their own designs in the future. Asian markets have knocked off so many American designs over the last 3 decades it's about time we paid them back in some small way. Still I would have preferred something slightly more unique.

 

That Tougerun unit is freakin sweet, and it's more durable, AND $50 cheaper than the GV. Man, I need to get one!!

 

$60 cheaper if you get it soon.

I had the GV lip on my old '97, it survived a pretty nasty crash and is still doing fine on a buddy's car.

 

Sell your OEM lip and get TougeRun lip...that's what I am going to do
