Intermittent issue at WOT
I am experiencing an issue with my recently turboed 97 miata with 58k miles. It has a kraken kit on it with a ms3pro PNP ecu and all supporting mods. I am running a FM 36-2 trigger wheel and using a NB crank sensor with it that’s tied into the factory CAS. I was told by the guys at DIYAutotune that I would need to use an NB sensor with my setup for sequential spark(my tuner had never heard of needing an NB sensor for this so I am confused). I had picked up a non factory NB crank sensor off amazon(with decent reviews). When I am at WOT, around 5500 to 6k, the ecu will sometimes detect a missing tooth in an unexpected location and it pulls everything causing a loud pop and loss of all acceleration. The weird thing is sometimes it happens and sometimes I can go days without an issue. At first, I had thought my wiring might of been the issue and replaced the CAS connector along with redoing all the connections. I made it about a week where things seemed to work till the weather got hot again and the issue came back. My first thought is to replace the crank sensor with something OEM but wanted to ask around before spending the money.
Thanks in advance for any help/advice.

For starters, what are you running for your CKP sensor to trigger wheel gap? Most on here go with a credit card's width of gap. I've had success with a slightly tighter gap than that. A couple of us, myself included, have had to space the sensor out from the oil pump a tiny bit to get the CKP sensor to line up perfectly with the trigger wheel.
You only get sync loss at WOT/high RPM? Have you confirmed via a datalog that it's sync loss occurring? It sounds like it but I just want to cover all the bases.
A copy of your tune and a log of the issue occurring is necessary if you want the ECU/tuning gurus on here to help out.
