I was just curious how you guys wired the ground wires for the Innovate Wideband O2 sensor. I think that I have a bad ground as the readings are fine at idle and then when running around it starts fluctuating alot. It says to ground two of the wires together in the instruction manual so I just spliced two wires together and placed them under a bolt inside the car. Thanks for the help.

 

Define "fluctuating alot.

If it's fluctuating back and forth between, say, 14 and 16, then it's because the mixture itself is fluctuating through that range. Which is normal. It's how most ECUs work.

 

make sure it's a good ground point.

 

Ok I should have been more clear. It works fine then randomly will put out some odd numbers like 20:1 and stop working (yet the car runs fine). This happens intermittently. I then turn the car off. Start it back up and it works fine again.

On another note I went for a run the other night and my car was really rich according to the O2 sensor under full boost. Have not had a chance to play with my fuel settings but according to my wideband I was at like 10:1 in a couple areas and 9.8:1 in one area yet the car ran fine.

Before I change the fueling would the car run fine at that A/F ratio under full boost or do you think my Wideband reading is off 1 or 2 points and needs to be recalibrated? Thanks.

 

I'd run with the laptop connected directly inthe lc-1 with logworks running, so you can see if it's throwing any error codes.

what bolt did you use for a ground? it's very possible its not a good contact...the lc-1 is VERY sensitive to voltage fluxs and whatnot.

also what are you reading the output from? an ecu or gauge? do you have the outputs sending the correct voltage range?

 

I have the ground attached to a bolt that holds down the metal cover for the stock ECU. I will try to move it somewhere else. Also I have tried looking at the Wideband readings on my EMU software and on the LC-1 software (logworks) on my laptop and the readings are identical. When it happens again I will make note of the error message. I can't remember what it is right now. Thanks for the help.
