Hey i'm new to this concept of fiberglass hoods.. does it need / will it have any metal reinforcements? Are all the 'factory mount points' the same? In other words, is it just plug & play?

Another idea, if you take elesjuan's suggestion to make all hoods w/barn doors and then just cut them out -- you can then maybe sell the barn doors separately with a nice naca duct already put in there :)

I spent a bunch of hours working on my naca duct, it would be nice to get a *real* one for relatively cheap as opposed to sending $200 for a carbon fiber headlight cover with an incorrect duct.

Instead off making a new hood... It should be really easy to make the addons off some disigns to fit to our own hoods...

These are simpel...

the point of a new hood is not to make it look like a pimped out civic with non functioning ducts and bunch of other crap on there that doesnt fit together, the point of a new hood is weight reduction along with holes placed on the right spots at the right angles to help with the cooling efficiency.

If you search yahoo, there are already plenty of addons for hoods.

Fixed

I'm in for the above hood, but for an NB. :x:

Yes. And I can pay right now for an NB hood that does these things. But the probability is less than 1% as the OP has not posted anything here for a while.

Sorry for the delay in my responses. My shop has been busy out of no where, so this had to be put on the back burner. It is back out and the first mold should be finished in the next week or so. I have taken some pictures of the progress I will post up later.

An NB hood is not likely to happen anytime soon. I will concider it in the future, but not right now.

The regular hood is being made right now and the one with barndoors covered will be made off of that if everyone likes what they see.

Someone is coming to give me a demo on thier self mixing vacuum bagging setup next week, so that may be in the cards for this. I looked into wet vacuum bagging, which is easy, but it doesn't give the same results as self mixing.
