What do you guys think of the design in the Stage21 hood? Seems like it could work fairly well if those back vents are in the right places. I haven't seen any CFD data on the NA yet to verify or disprove this... Link to the hood: yStage21z¤•iÚ× I know it was mentioned before as a viable candidate for this project, but just looking for your take on it.
Also, in for results of first finished product. :D |

I would assume everyone is at the point where we would use hood pins on something like this. With an extractor there is a lot of pressure pushing up on the hood (at least it appears that way with my extractor).
I am not saying that pins are not needed, just clearing up your hypothesis. |
OK found a picture of the hood right before I put some finishing touches on it for the mold. This is a cell phone picture that I decided to take spur the moment, so the quality may not be great.

Not too bad... Is the leading edge of the duct elevated? Hard to tell from that angle, but it appears to be.

i'd make the scoop round with the front of the bumper, fade it a bit more instead of the 1.5" you have now, i'd also pull back that cut and the recession of it another 2", you want it to flow together, not look like a cheap addon.

ah i see, yeah i thought you were making the blank right now so you can make the mold off of it and start production.

Save the pretty work for the NB version.... :)

Can't wait to see the first sample! |
It actually looks pretty good in person. It wasn't ALL smoothed out when I saw it a few weeks back...but you could tell it would look good painted.
It calls a lot less attention to itself than the add-on scoops I've seen...so the fact that it's not rounded with bumper will matter less. The lip is elevated nicely, and rounded. |
I like that alot, Looks purposeful yet discrete. Lets get some out there to test and see how they perform.
|
that actually looks better than Id imagine it would. Cant wait to see final pics.
|
damnit are you gonna make an NB hood?! we always get dicked hardcore with vented hoods.
|
These are for NAs right? cuz I want one! :D
any word on pricing? |

Har har har :P

Looks good thus far to me. Even though it doesn't apply to my car I'm always glad to see new affordable performance oriented body parts coming into the market.
|
Make it for NB's too damn it:vash::)
