is a clutch pairing available that will hold 250whp and not engage off the floor? I can't stand that ACT release ****.

Yeah...couple posts up I mention the Spec Stg. 2 1.8L w/ 1.8L flywheel holds 277lb-ft, which is darn close to 250rwhp and only 15-20% stiffer pedal whose engagement point is pretty close to stock.

I think the carbone-fiber pro disk from Clutchnet would fit that bill as well.

thanks. I'll probably go with the carbon disk and spec clutch when that time comes.

I just bought the clutchnet cermatallic 6 puck, but was considering the carbon disk. Clutchnet guy said it (carbon) would hold 300ftlbs at the crank but no more.

went and talked to the local ACT/Exedy/Fidanza distrubutor today and I think I'm going to go with the ACT Xtreme PP and Street disc. he qouted me 350 for it and that seems a little cheaper than most places I've seen online and I don't have to pay shipping. Prolly end up doing this in the garage or on a friends lift over the break so we shall see how that goes.

Anybody know the going rate on having a flywheel resurfaced...its just the stock one.

Anyone found a better deal than $465-470 for a full XT PP + street disc set? I don't think I want to dick around with an HD PP.

Do I even need a new disc, or can I just pick up the PP, throwout bearing, etc. and do it that way?

$474.65 shipped from CarolinaClutch for the 1.8 XT. I don't know if I'd want to use a 1.6 setup on my 1.8, even with only 240 crank ft.lbs, just because I'd have to go and source a 1.6 flywheel. I plan to have my stock flywheel machined.

Spec'd out from racepages.com, I found an ACT XD PP, Exedy disc, ACT pilot and release bearings for $420. Anything I'm missing? They want an even $500 for their ACT XD "kit", but I don't think I'll be able to tell the difference between a $130 ACT street disc and a $50 Exedy street disc.

do the puck style discs wear any faster than a full, round organic or kevlar disc? I'm thinking about the 1.8l spec stage 2.

I hve 140k on my clutch...so I want to have something in the garage, ready to swap. I've had time belt job stuff in there since may.

Didn't samnavy have trouble with his? I'd just get an ACT XT and be done with it.

+1. Altough if you are on a budget and are certain you wont boost past 200rwhp, then the HD is still holding my power. But I'm at it's limits.

Mine will be for sale in Feb. (8k on it)

I don't think the T25 .48 I have is going to let me go much past 200rwhp on 10-12psi but I don't want to buy two clutches if I'm wrong. I also don't want to buy two clutches when I upgrade later on to a T25/T28 and 15psi.
