Yes, probably would be good if it caught on something. Around here we have lots of 1" thick steel plates covering holes in the road. Wonder what it does for transmission bracing/support on high power cars...

The shifting I can see, but the other stuff? I don't know, I think it be placebo.

i wouldn't run a butterfly brace on a lowered car. a guy out here in cali had one peeled off his car by a manhole cover at speed.

I just run the rails and it makes big difference just in the amount of cowl shake. Is it faster around a track? Doubtful, maybe if everything else was ideal ...

It weighs about 1.5 lbs and yeah, you lose about 1" of ground clearence. Castillejos is right about the vibration though. It's very noticable in the cockpit at low rpms. Mine's not a daily driver, so I didn't have an issue with it.

Simple bracing (making triangles) does the job. Could've bought all the stuff from vendors, but made it with my friend the mechanic:-)

Indeed simple steel pipes, crushed ends, drill hole, measured underneath the car, bolted, done. The easiest and cheapest way to figure out which brace has the highest gain. Did this to determine what brace to buy in higher quality (powder coated, bushings etc) from MOSS or FM. Eventually didn't since this does the job. Scratched one? Replace it with another piece of $5 pipe.

The FM butterfly brace is the thing to install, I'd say, but shipping from Colorado to The Netherlands is a bit more expensive than US Postal ground shipping in the US. So I tend to pay for shipping for parts from the US and Japan if no other solution is possible.

tranny cross brace

Just pulled the 1.8 out of '96 Miata. Out for overhaul. Noticed cross brace for tranny bent and bushings separated. Need to replace. Any suggestions? Previous owner installed Okuyama model. I can't find a part number for "96 Miata at their site. Moss part number 904-645 does not show up anywhere. Can somebody help me. thanks, Bill
