Yes. I quickly explored a top mount and realized that with the way I want the coils to sit, the metal interfered with the connector that pops up. I don't like the way Sam's harness (for instance, sorry Sam :( ) lays across his valve cover. Although it would be much easier for me to produce, I just didn't like it, and so it was axed.

The plate is $20. I have to buy 50 to get them to do the tooling, so I will definitely have some extras.

I've gotten a few PMs about ordering parts of the kit, so here's the breakdown:

Coils: $80
OEM Toyota Connectors: $20
OEM Mazda ignitor (1.6)/Weatherpack connector (1.8): $20
Bracket: $20
Harness: the rest ($90) (includes cap, pins, and resistor for 1.6 MS guys)

That adds up to $230, which is probably where I'll set the price point for the long term.

 

Looks like I'm in the 6th/7th spot with my May 5 down payment. Any feeling for time frame?

 

Probably looking at the end of the first week of June. Depends on the timeframe for the brackets, though.
