The utility infrastructure in NYC is extremely old. Our steam system dates back to the 1880s, and the gas system is even older than that. So leaks aren't merely commonplace, they're a given. It's actually kind of surprising that we don't have major gas explosions and major steam explosions more frequently.
To put the age of the system into perspective, slavery was still legal in the US when the first gas lines started going in.

It appears some kid without a license took his parents' car while they were away and smashed into a parked car. This was him trying to hide the car. It looks like he totally destroyed the front right corner in the hit and run and the wheel is just flopping around.

Mochi is actually pretty slammin, you should give it a try. If you are not an adventurous shopper who frequents asian markets, you can usually find it in Trader Joe's frozen desserts section. Lower quality but a good intro I'd assume.

No, it's the master antenna combiner for all of the UHF TV stations on Empire.
A person standing in that room can take every single TV station in NYC off the air pretty easily, and kill themselves a thousand times over in the process. Needless to say, you move carefully in that room.
