The mascot is still Raymond but nobody knows what or why he is.

Good Point, but then again, I am old and didn't read the pen. We had ball points in those days.

Side note; Today I happened to be putting a Sony Walkman and a couple of other cassette players away with some unopened tapes. I hadn't touched them for years and needed the shelf space.

I kept waiting for a power line to fall onto the mess.

How the heck do you have a raised platform like that, on which vehicles operate, without any kind of barrier?

Seeing all the comments on this video have been pretty comical. On my last shift at the station we analyzed this video and all that is wrong with it.

The nozzleman straight up sets the hose on the ground BAD
The big kink in the hose at the beginning BAD. They are running not nearly enough water pressure.
Letting a civilian go in the house ABSOLUTELY NOT...

Sir your dog is in the house?
yes
Where?
dont know
Will it attack me?
no

Firefighters go in as a team and get dog.

Around here the firefighters don't go in and get the disabled woman who is on the phone with 911 out of the burning house. Instead they stand outside and post videos on social media while she burns to death.

POLK COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA) - An 8 On Your Side investigation is revealing some discrepancies about what happened the night an elderly woman died in a house fire.

The victim, 76-year-old Loretta Pickard, was on the phone with 911 dispatchers for 20 minutes from inside a burning home.

"I think my house is on fire and I'm here alone and I'm on a walker," Pickard can be heard telling the dispatcher.

The elderly woman sat on the phone with the dispatcher as her Rockridge Road home, tucked away in a rural wooded area, was filling with smoke.

According to the 911 call, Loretta was told over and over again by a dispatcher that help was coming.

"They're there, is your door unlocked?" the dispatcher asked.

"Yes, tell them to hurry!" Loretta replied.

According to the log that was brought to 8 On Your Side's attention by a source in Polk County Fire Rescue, firefighters did not attempt to get into the home or check around it. In fact, they never mentioned the person trapped inside.

Instead, firefighters started fighting the fire from the outside.

At that point, according to the log, only half of the home was on fire.

"They know I'm here right?" Loretta can be heard asking the 911 dispatcher as she seems more concerned.

"Yes they know you're in there," the dispatcher responded.

The log shows that a dispatcher told the firefighters several times that Loretta was inside, where she was located and that she was still alive.

Yet there is no record in the log of any search, rescue attempt, or any mention of the victim from firefighters on scene.

8 On Your Side has learned that the person calling the shots, Polk County Fire Rescue Captain James Williams, sent a Snapchat video from the scene.

Halman said he was suspended for it.

"It's violation of our policy and as a result he was suspended for 24 hours without pay," Halman said.
Heroic.

That was also a discussion on the same shift, that whole situation was terrible lots of bad calls were made. I predict some job openings in that area. Especially since our #1 priority is to preserve life and property.

Drunken driver nearly drowns after crashing into fire hydrant, FL deputies say

A Florida woman was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence after she had to be rescued from a sinkhole created when she crashed into a fire hydrant.
Deputies say when 21-year-old Alexandrea Runyon hit a fire hydrant early Friday in Summerfield, FL, water started gushing so fast that it sucked the woman and her car right down into the watery abyss.
