Metric: What's the next size up from 10mm? 11mm.

Imperial: What's the next size up from 1/2? Well, it depends on your wrench set. Might be 9/16, might be 5/8. Neither one is intuitively obvious.

Heck, I wouldn't even mind so much if Imperial wrenches were specified with a uniform denominator. So the wrench one-size smaller than 9/16 is 8/16. At least it's easier to remember.

Sidebar: did you know people collect antique wrenches in the same way one might collect coins, stamps, or those little commemorative spoons that show everyone what different national parks you've visited?

They even have antique wrench auctions, a newsletter, and catalogs: The Wrenching News for All Wrench Collectors of Old, Antique, Vintage, Farm, and Adjustable Wrenches

I have no problem with any of the modifications, just that the picture depicts a "sleeper" when it's pretty obviously modified.

A sleeper to me would be a car that looks totally stock at first glance. But then you see how close the brakes sit to the stock wheels...

^ I wonder how many people out there would ever question where the caliper is?

It used to beat up on fox bodies in Richmond, Va. We'd go out cruising, and everyone would wanna race my bros 5.0L, and he'd be like nah man, race my buddy in that pos to make him feel better about himself. good times.

Oh okay that makes sense then. Google likes to give search results based on your browsing history. Since I posted that pic on MTnet, it came up in your search results.

Not many these days! Back in the late '90s I painted the rusted calipers to match the body color of the car. A friend asked what they were because she'd never noticed them on any other car. Later that same girl asked how I was going to maintain control after adding a turbocharger and doubling the FWHP (1.8 BP, 1995 Escort GT). Umm, with the accelerator pedal just like any other car moron!

I had to order a new printer for this setup.
The system is still in use, and works properly. The printer had to much sand and dust ground through it to work anymore. I think 27 years of use is pretty decent.
And I won a free lunch from a coworker that bet we couldn't find a replacement.

As someone who also works with massively obsolete technology, it's interesting how some of it is still in manufacture, and some of it is scarcer than a virgin at Sturgis.

Example:
https://www.amazon.com/MICROLINE-Turbo-Matrix-Printer-62411601/dp/B00004Z9BS/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=dot+matrix+printer&qid=1554338714&s=gateway&sr=8-1 https://www.amazon.com/MICROLINE-Turbo-Matrix-Printer-62411601/dp/B00004Z9BS/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=dot+matrix+printer&qid=1554338714&s=gateway&sr=8-1

On the other hand, I recently paid $1200 on eBay for a complete Evertz MVP frame, because I needed one specific part out of it. Original price on that unit was about $90k.
