It saddens me to see that a guy who felt that building a rocket to go lower than a Cessna was a better idea then booking a seat on a commercial airplane is receiving such coverage.
I was looking for something to do to keep myself busy for the past couple days, so I decided to deal with the annoying slop/play in my clutch and brake pedals.
The clutch pedal was the worse of the two. Years of stop and go traffic had manifested itself in the form of a badly worn pivot hole:
As I was removing the pedals, I noticed the pedal frames had a fair bit of surface rust, so I removed them, too.
I took them to get media blasted and powder coated:
They look better than new for less than 10 bucks. I will gladly take the added weight penalty of this incredibly durable paint on these frames.
As for the pedals and the deformed pivot holes, I had an idea.
I drilled the 8 mm holes to just under 19 mm, and bought a couple of 8x19 mm sealed bearings.
Once I pressed the bearings in place, I was pretty confident they will not wear out anymore. They may actually outlast the car.
İnstalling everything back in the car was pretty backbreaking work, but the pedals are perfectly quiet and solid now.

I really don't think anybody would need to buy a kit.. All you need to do is drill the thing, smooth the diameter a bit and press a bearing in there...
I would throw that away. I have a huge pet-peeve against adult babies who expect Mom to clean up after them. I throw **** out of out fridge almost every Monday -- or stack all the left-overs up blocking the free spots with a post it "throw away your ****, children"

I think you're underestimating the amount of people who will pay more for a "Kit". Sell a bearing and a drill bit for 5 easy payments of $9.99. Someone would but it.
Also, that's a great idea, definitely stealing that one because my clutch is in need. Maybe I can find a kit somewheres...
