Finalists time of test

This one is a lot funner video to watch IMO. Highschool kids loading their own bridges.

I remember doing that in high school physics class. We had to use popsicle sticks,

The class smartass (who went on to become a mechanical engineer), constructed a "bridge" which was 1/2 popsicle stick wide, 1/2 popsicle stick long, and several feet tall.

It never failed under the maximum number of weights the teacher had available, so he went out to his car, came back in with the scissor jack, borrowed a scale from the cafeteria kitchen, and used that combo, between the floor and the underside of his desk, to finally kill the bridge.

I understand from students the following year that the rules were changed after that. .

One of my sons had to build something that would hold school books at least 1" off the floor out of tooth picks and masking tape in middle school.
We built 4 tiny triangular "jack stands" 1" tall.
Pretty much all of the other kids projects failed after 2 books were applied.
Michael's stands went 17 books before they ALL failed at the same time explosively.
His stands were the "smallest" project and had the minimum number of tooth picks.

He was "The Boss" that day...
