Found an old photo of the 8-bit cat we had in the late 1980s.

The aliasing artifacts weren't visible in real life at the time. A side-effect of transcoding the original interlaced cat into a progressive-scan format.

I remember when I was younger that occasionally after watching a movie trailer, I'd think "hey I might want to watch that" instead of "hey, I just watched that". It seems like every movie trailer has the plot twist, the climax, the resolution, right in the two minute trailer.

The middle bit would just jackknife until metal hit metal.

I'm not wholly convinced of this.

Reversing a conventional double is entirely possible. And 5th-wheel dollies are a thing which exist:

^^ Love the pic, but they should have left the subsequent failed attempt at math hack up out of it and just stuck with what's on the cardboard. Would not pass any pre-algebra course.

And I can't find a single video of one of them being reversed while loaded with a trailer.

Two pivot points really close together, what else could happen? There's no reason for it to go straight unless one point could be locked. It's like pushing a string.

This is usually normal for dual trailers where the dolly is on the 2nd trailer. Done it few times on ATS.. definitely not fun. Couldn't even imagine it in real life.
