Agreed, I just love it when engineers do random funny ****.

Back when I was designing PCBs from time to time, I used to bury amusing line-art and song lyrics in unused portions of the inner copper layers. Nobody would ever see them, but I knew that they were there.

Sand-benders still do stuff like embedding complete, functional replicas of the PDP-1 running SpaceWar in unused (and not normally accessible) parts of chip dies.
