But, as far as the argument of less combustion cylinders goes, my thoughts are this: 4 cyl. combustion = x amount of heat; 2 cyl. doing 4 cyl. worth of combustion work = .5 times 2x heat. So although there are fewer cylinders doing the work, the work is still being done and twice as much heat will be released from them, thereby offsetting the claim of less heat being produced.
