So some new hair salon opened nearby, and a lady came around the office park handing out coupons to everyone.

What the **** is a Haircut Experience?

This is why I go to Tony, a grumpy old former Chicago cop who runs a simple barber shop and has an old leather strop hanging from the chair. Tony doesn't give you "an experience", he just gives you a damn haircut.

Anybody who goes into this shop and asks for "an experience" needs to have their Man Card revoked immediately.

Agreed. And anyone who pays more than about 12 bucks for said haircut (tip not included) is an idiot.

Maybe they offer hookers with the hair cut as why it's an experience?

On a side note, just found that pic but better late than never.

If they need to see your ID for this "experience" it might not be all bad.

Ha, I was just talking about this with a friend who goes to sport clips. Apparently they give you a head massage. And I'm guessing that's a hot towel wrapped around his head.

The best hair cut I ever got took 7 minutes and she didnt say a single word to me, zero small talk, it was awesome.

I remember going to a place called "Wild Hair" when I was in college. It mostly catered to the punk / goth / emo / WTF crowd, but there was one heavily pierced chick who worked there who was All Business. Plop down in the chair, apron on, clippers like a pro, a quick dustoff with compressed air, and *bam* you're done.

But I like Tony.

Pretty much everywhere I've lived over the past 10 years, I've managed to find an old-school barber shop run by one or two grumpy old men who take their time, but don't screw around. The hot-lather dispenser is the closest thing to frill I can tolerate. (Well, at Bob & Gary's place they had always had a keg, and you could have a free beer while you waited. Always Budweiser, but still a nice touch.)

Apparently it's just to ensure you're a first-time customer, thus preventing double-dipping on the "free experience" offer.

Anyone who talks about having a "Man Card" needs to have theirs revoked.

Additionally, you guys pay someone to cut your hair for you? Could you not find the aisle with hairclippers in Wal-Mart?

I use sport clips. Do the triple play, not the MVP. The massage is a lie.

A cute girl shampoos your hair, massages your your neck and back, puts a hot towel on your face and then cuts your hair. It's really not bad. I never got my man card anyway.
She even asked if i wanted to talk to which i responded 'nope' , Didn't hear another word until the cut was done.

I miss my old barber. Old dude, very stern and unfriendly looking. Straight razor and old school clippers and scissors. No bullshit, good hair cut. $10 + tip.
