You also get the same motor and transaxle as my Lotus Elise, albeit in the front of the car vs mid, which Lotus sources from Toyota. Different manifolds, injectors and engine management, but same VVT 1.8 which is happy to turn 8k RPMs all day long.
The Vibe, however, is a hideous beast, which like it's retard brother the Aztek, stands in homage to how Profoundly Wrong some of the calls that come out of Detroit can be. Such a sweet motor, wrapped in a package meant for people who don't give a rats *** about what's under the hood and will never hear it's sweet 7-8k banshee wail.

The Pontiac Vibe is essentially the most practical and logical vehicle choice for the vast majority of Americans. You get Toyota reliability at Pontiac prices, the utility of a small wagon with good fuel economy and reasonable size. I would expect it to be driven by a fastidious accountant or non-automotive enthusiast engineer.

This joker pulled into Quiznos as I was leaving lunch. Made no effort whatsoever to fix it. Just barreled into the spot, smashed into the curb and left it. Four grown men jumped out. I chuckled.
