I normally park just as you did all the time and see this over and over. In these instances, I think the average (idiot) parker just looks at the overall space between the cars on either side and parks in the middle, which explains the intrusion into your space. At least that's the most generous theory I can come up with to ease my mind. At the end of the day, if they're still far enough away so that they couldn't door ding me, I don't fret too much, even though they are over the line.

 

I don't give the average driver the benefit of the doubt. I'd rather assume someone would park like that regardless of the position of my car in my spot. I see it rather frequently in this parking lot.

That is pretty funny but you have to admit, access to the LHS of the Honda's door is pretty limited in that spot. Even more so after the incident.

FWIW, my daily is a 7.3l Excursion and I park it straight up dat *** 'n leave no wiggle room... otherwise I be taking out panels left and right

 

It wont make a difference, ever seen a handicapped person park? the spot is twice as wide as most spaces and they still find a way to park a foot over into the other spot.

 

Another reason I park my toys in no man's land. I've been known to not even go to a place if the parking is no good LOL. I don't even take the MS6 to Philly. On the occasion I do go to that crap city, I take the beater or someone else must drive.
