Hey you park like a total a'hole thread
#601
I had a fun experience in the parking lot of a grocery store in San Jose a couple days ago. I got a parking spot right in front, which I was pretty pleased about since I usually have to park way in the back of the lot. I was in my Lincoln, which I take religious care of, and as I was checking out my groceries, I saw a guy hit my car with his shopping cart, then open his door right into the side of my car - in order to do this he had to open his car door as far as it would go, since I was parked well inside the line and there was plenty of room to open his door wide without touching my car. The checkout lady (bless her) saw it happen too, since it was right outside the front windows, and told me that she would hold my groceries and I should run out and take care of it. As I approached the guy, I saw he had white hair under his hat and was all hunched over, and I thought, "Oh, it's somebody's doddering old grampy who shouldn't be driving. He didn't mean any harm, he just doesn't know what's going on around him." I told him that the Lincoln was my car, and offered to load his groceries into his car for him. I then found out, in no uncertain terms, that he knew exactly what he was doing, he knew that San Jose police weren't going to respond to a door ding call, he didn't give a **** about my car, and he was exasperated that I would even waste his time by bringing it up.
Turns out he's known by every employee in that grocery store since he heaps abuse on every one of them he talks to; a small crowd of the employees had gathered behind the front windows hoping (I think) that I was going to fight him. I don't care so much about the cost of the dent repair, but I was mad for the rest of the day that the guy just stomps through life taking advantage of people around him with no consequences. Small claims court is worth more of my time than the $75 dent repair. The guy knew before he started that he would get away with it scott free.
It should be legal to punch some people in the head.

Look at the width of those parking spaces though.
If all cars were as narrow as an MX5 then those spots are barely adequate for two to be parked side by side to allow both side doors to be opened.
Given that the trend in the US, and now Australia unfortunately, is for large SUVs, parking spots NEED to be wider, the average vehicle is no longer a medium-sized sedan.
This is a local council issue.

This is typical of parking spaces in large US cities. Given the lack of available real estate relative to the population, everything is smaller. One might make a similar observation about the fact that a typical lot out in the residential neighborhoods is about 25 feet wide.

The digest version is:
Long time ago in a parking lot far away a stupid bitch (term 100% accurate*) hits another car while trying to back out because she's turning the wheel to early. She tries to cover the damage and can't and then proceeds to repeatedly make the same mistake. Then she leaves. Best comment on video "slowest hit and run ever".
SUPER ULTRA MEGA SHORT VERSION FOR BROS:
Some bitch takes 8 minutes to back out of a normal parking spot and hits a car... A lot.
(*I normally refrain from such mannerisms unless used in jest with close friends. This lady has no business operating an automobile and is the absolute bain of society. I'd bet anything she's done this several times.)
Dumb bitch

I feel as though the owner of this Jeep might have put a little more effort into figuring out where to stop.
On the plus side, the body of my car is already beat to hell, so it's not as though I really care. It's more the principle of the thing.
