So, today was the company holiday meal. Texas BBQ, with pulled pork & chicken, beef brisket and all the typical sides. They also passed out the holiday gift, which this year was a zippered fleece jacket. Individually wrapped and everything.
To be a wise ***, I took a $100 bill I just happened to have in my wallet, and stuck it inside the package. I pretended to be surprised when I opened the wrapping paper. I sold it well enough to have a couple of guys notice, whereupon I showed the $100 plainly visible inside the clear protective cover.
Apparently, some of the more gullible people here bought it. I was told that a select few even got their panties in a bunch because of it. Particularly our "holier than thou" diamond machinists, who deserve to be brought down a peg or two.

Our company lunch / raffle was today too.
I was one of the 3 people who picked the prizes to give away in the raffle. $400 worth of **** for 35 people(10 items, good odds).
I ended up getting one of the prizes which i already own. (i selected it because i liked it) No one would trade with me so now i have two of them.
Someone got a set of wireless headphones and then bitched and complained about them being cheap.

During the latter years of my tenure with the Harris Corporation, layoffs became an annual tradition. It really surprised me, however, when towards the end I started looking at the lists and thinking "wow, those were actually good cuts to make!"
Serious question: was it the 10% that needed to be laid off?

But we need OPEC to cut back on their production and bring the price of oil back up so our business (and state) doesn't continue to suffer. As you can imagine along with producing oil/NG, there are a lot of other jobs tied to that industry in OK.
You should come in early one day and set it up in someone's cube who is next to a window and just leave it there.

Of course, as shuiend (and OK Go) have pointed out, this too shall pass.
I like the part where they shot him 29 times... All for good measure.

Having read the whole article, it sounds to me like the police did the poor bastard a favor.
