I'm just suggesting that from the outsider's perspective (i.e. mine), you've got this situation:

a) guy number one is very not customer sensitive even though it is his job to be as an HR representative who deals with benefits administration. All he had to do was reply to one email with a "she was listed on your form" or some equivalent which would have taken zero time at all.

b) you and the VP compound the problem by playing ostensibly childish games and holding him techno-hostage and preventing him from doing whatever work he's been avoiding in the first place.

I presume this is a relatively rare occurrence and I'm simply overreacting to an outlier of behavior, but both parties seem to be trying hard to work against each other and waste everyone's time. And not in a fun way. Worst of all, next time you need something from this guy, do you think he's going to be more compliant or less compliant?

And believe me, I'm mister jokey chillerson in the office, but when it comes to wasting my time, I get super serious.

I also answer to a VP/owner and have all the secret passwords but then again I sit next door to the person who does our benefits and I can just bang on the wall.

 

And now you live in a state where people have such a hard time figuring out how to wear pants that it's necessary to create legislation concerning the matter.

Let me get you interested by telling you that this guy has NINETEEN cars for sale, and this is probably the least WTF-worthy.

 

So at work we got the Corsair K70 keyboards and wow this thing is noisy but its crisp. I must say though i'm liking it big time. i'm liking how the keys are soft yet activate very soon. I've made more typos on this but I'm not focusing on typing carefully.

All and all i like this but i don't know if it's worth the 130 bucks or whatever they cost. I also dont like how high the keys are. I type under my desk on without pulling up the keyboard tray and it's definitely much higher than normal keyboards. this is almost twice as high as my normal work Asus keyboard at work.

What's the stroke like?

The thing that kills a good keyboard for me is having a stroke that feels like it's 5 miles long.

Obviously it's personal preference. I like more of a laptop / laptop hybrid stroke.
One of the only clean keyboards i've found that has this feature is the Logitech Illuminated. For normal typing / work / doing whatever any keyboard works really. But for gaming the shorter strokes seem to benefit in a positive way. I've even WPM tested myself and i'm faster with the shorter stroke keyboard. Maybe because i've used it for so long and gotten used to it.


Stroke

 

IMO the key stroke is too short. You gotta only press th ekey halfway for it to activate. Like i'm pressing keys that i barely touch. I make 5 mistakes or so per paragraph so i wont correct antyhing in this thread while i'm using the keyboard. i'm ok with it being very sensitive so its fine. The only thing i dont like about the keyboard is that the keys are way too high. I'm used to the keyboard being about 3/89 - half of an inch or so thick and this keyboartd is probably 3/4" high. I borrowed the keyboard for the weekend so i'll see how it is at home.

Are the WASD keys actually textured? That's pretty cool. Gotta figure out how to do that to my old Logitek K120.

Random observation: For some reason, as opinionated as I am about a lot of things, I've never been much of a keyboard bigot. I am a violent mouse bigot, but I can think of very few keyboards which I've sat down at and thought, "Wow, this is a really shitty keyboard and I dislike using it," and with only one (group) exception, none of those have been manufactured since the 1980s.

But aside from that sort of thing? Meh. I mean, there's nothing wrong with the clunky old IBM Model M keyboard that some folks covet. I used 'em back when they were new, and they were ok, but given the choice I much prefer a quiet, short-stroke keyboard.

 

Yes the red keys are textured. Same with the space bar. The top keys 1-6 have little bends at th eend. On the 1 key the left edge is lifted up, on the 6 key the right edge is lifted up. Thhey supply those keys with the keyboard.

One thing i like about this keyboard is that you can set it to which keys are lit up. For example if you like the wasd keys and the 1-6 to light up then you can program it only those keys to be lit during gaminig.

 

Last president made it so that every student moves through k-12 even if they fail. This president wants each one of those students to get a free college degree now, even if they just barely don't fail.

A PhD is looking much more appealing to me every day to differentiate myself from this sickening trend in education policies.

 

If everyone has a dollar, a dollar is worthless. If everyone has a dollar, and you have 5 dollars, you're rich. Why give away dollars?

 

I wouldn't mind it one bit if people were more educated. It could be a great idea, just like any number of other compassionate social programs. The trouble is, as a country, we simply can't afford it, and I sure as hell don't want to have to pay more for it. Considering that, it's grossly inappropriate and cruel for Obama to even propose such a thing. Clearly pandering for votes for the demos.

Well just took off the keyboard. Didnt like it for gaming. I was not feeling comfortable. Maybe i need a little harder keys. No idea but i'm back to my sidewinder x6.

Well this is a borrowed keyboard from the company i work for so i'll just let it be.

 

I'll use any keyboard as long as its wireless.

Same for the mouse.

For desktop applications, I have always eschewed wireless keyboards and mouses. They've just never made sense to me- I don't use them off of the desktop, everything else has wires, what advantage is there to adding the requirement that I periodically change or recharge the batteries on a device which is, by the nature of its use, permanently installed and stationary?

For console gaming controllers, I get it. You wanna be able to put the console up front and chill on the couch. And since controllers get moved around a lot, no wires means less mess / tangling / trip hazards, etc.

Ditto the mouse I carry with me when I travel. It's tiny and wireless, which makes it easier to toss into my flight bag, makes the rig easier to stow and remove when I arrive at / leave the jobsite every day, etc.

But for my desktop rig? I'd no more pine for a wireless keyboard and mouse than I would a wireless lamp on my desk or microwave oven in the kitchen.

 

There are times when I just wanna lean back, cross my legs and take the keyboard on my lap. Like, doing lazy web searches.

I often drink tea while I'm working. Snacks go well with tea. I just move things around when I do that.

Also, I just hook it up on my TV and use it instead of the on screen keyboard. Same with laptops.

Cleaning/dusting the desk is easier, too.

I guess I just don't care for cables running all over the place.
