Drove the stinky Miata in the rain this morning and didn't notice any leaks around the windows for once. Yay.

Joe, did you break into my car and steal my CD wallet thing several years ago?

Also I've been responding to my coworkers emails and chat messages all morning with nothing but Magic 8 Ball responses. It's actually going surprisingly well and I'm about 90% sure they haven't caught on.

Been about 8 hours since surgery.
Total knee reconstruction - almost 4 hours on the table.

I am just now starting to feel my legs. Epidural is weird that way.

I was definitely not posting on the internet 8 hours after having my right hand re-assembled. I was crying in pain because the nerve blocker had just worn off, and like an idiot I'd said "well, there's really not much pain so I think I'll go to bed without taking any of the heavy narcotics they gave me."

Unrelated:

What is it about old Jewish women that causes them all to adopt precisely the same pathetic, whiny, beleaguered tone of voice when faced with a minor everyday inconvenience (eg: checkout line moving too slowly, cashier refuses to accept expired coupon, the store doesn't have the "right kind" of tomato sauce on the shelf, etc.)

Very full bladder, body full of drugs, can't control anything.
Damn thing is sealed shut.

Nurse is bringing the catheter. Ouch.

I spent three days in hospital around 2005 after a nasty motorcycle wreck.

During that time, I benefited from a seemingly unending supply of young, cute nurses. Even the insertion of a rectal suppository is eased by the presence of a young, cute nurse.

May your fortune be similar.

Nurse was escorted by a doctor and a male nurse.

The catheter produced a very mixed set of reactions, agonizing pain, instant relief and a little over 1.5 liters of Commie fluid.

Interesting.

I've heard this comment before, but my own personal recollection of cauterization (without any sort of analgesic) is that it was a simple and painless procedure. Perhaps my urethra is simply better adapted to conveying large loads...

Uhm, yeah...

Normally I'd blame autocorrect, but I typed that from the desktop machine.

Catheterization.

What? Nobody likes the visualization of their pee-hole being welded shut?
