I just realized that our next President will be one of the remaining candidates. I mean, holy ****. Realistically:

Trump, Clinton, Cruz, Sanders, and maybe Kasich as a long shot?

Go Kasich, I guess? Yeesh.

It's really pretty frightening. I keep hoping I'll wake from a bad dream that I had while falling asleep with some stupid reality tv show on in the background.

Bicycling in NYC is kind of anarchic. As a cyclist, we don't really feel bound by laws which command us to do things such as stop at red lights, yield to things which could easily crush us under their enormous tires, yield to pedestrians, etc. In fact, just about the *only* law which is routinely obeyed by cyclists is the one which prohibits us from riding on the sidewalk.

Personally, I also tend to obey the "don't ride the wrong way on one-way streets" rule, largely because it's the one cyclists behavior which, as a fellow cyclist, really pisses me off. 1st Ave is the worst, where wrong-way cyclists will hog the nice, separated bike lane and force right-way cyclists into the door zone. I've always wished the NYPD, who seldom enforce any traffic law unless it applies to a parking space, would enforce this one.

Apparently they decided today was the day. I saw not one, not two, but three cyclists in a single block getting ticketed for riding south on 1st:

Sidebar: a second NYPD officer saw me taking this photograph of a fellow NYPD officer, and yet he failed to detain and beat me, to destroy my camera, or to infringe on my civil rights in any other way. In fact, he smiled and nodded.

******* cops slacking off on the job again...

It is going to be Trump verse Clinton. Then right before the election, it will become a Trump/Clinton or Clinton/Trump campaign.

I'd say that limb is pretty sturdy.

Hooray for root canals! Hurts more now than it did before I went in this afternoon, and I'm high as **** on codeine and whiskey to boot!

(Everyone should ignore any technical advice I give over the next 24 hours.)

This would explain why you are so mesmerized by the mixer board

But think from the dentist's perspective -
A guy comes in with an achy tooth and jawbone, so you open up the tooth, expose the sensitive and inflamed inner tissue, and poke it with sharp metal instruments for a while. Close up, send him home with ho-hum pain killers while anticipating Poking, Part II. Go home, pour 3 fingers of Laddie 10. Smile.

100% necrotic tissue, not a single molecule of indigenous life left in the tooth. ****** popped like a zit when the drill broke through. No wonder the whole side of my face has been swollen up.

WHISKEY AND NARCOTICS, YEE HAW!

But I respect this dentist. Dr. Boris. Never seen him before today. Zero BS, zero niceties. Didn't give a **** about which one of the local sportsball teams I follow. 15 minutes into our relationship and he's drilling like Gazprom. Two days' beard growth, nearly as tall as me so he could sympathize with my complaints about the chair being engineered for someone a foot shorter. Big butcher's hands, but didn't criticize when I moaned like a bitch when the needle hit the worst of the swollen tissue. Rammed that big #25 rotary file in up to the handle like he was over-boring a cylinder for Wisecos and a stroker crank. I totally dig this guy.

He can have all the Laddie he wants tonight.

Oh, and I finally saw the footswitch. Who was it that I was giving advice to about the locking footswitch? I totally get it now.

Well, except for the locking part.

And the switch part.

But the foot part? Totally down with that.

We're you being chased down an alley by a gay gorilla?

Did he think there was a banana in your pocket, or were you just happy to see him?
