sounds like he knows this and is being proactive about keeping a positive employment record

 

I'm unsure. In our line of work, employment record means very little. The employee he is forced to fire hasn't held a job for more than 60 days in the last 5 or so years.
I can't imagine quitting and not getting the unemployment benefits would be the best option.

 

Anyone else have rotator cuff/shoulder impingement problems? My throwing shoulder had been troublesome for a while but would normally be okay if I warmed up carefully. Past couple of weeks have been worse. Even low effort throws are painful. Internal rotation of the shoulder just kills me.

Can you learn to throw with your non-dominant hand as an adult?

I had shoulder impingement in both shoulders 5 years ago. Couldn't pass the dog leash behind my back. Reaching back to put your arm in the sleeve of a coat was super painful.

These exercises cleared it all up within two weeks. Amazing. I have had no recurrence since then. I do them only occasionally now, maybe once a month.

Obviously, make sure that the metal shaft of the switch is screwed into something which shares a common ground with the power distribution box.

Yesterday I observed a hawk chowing down on another bird. Looked like it was a pigeon.

Other news, is it possible for a starter to have a chipped tooth? I noticed every morning I tend to get 2 cranks, a pause & metal noise. Catches again and starts

 

It's the flywheel. They have a tendency to stop in the same couple of spots whenever the engine is turned off. An inline 6 cyl will always stop in the same 3 spots due to the throws of the crank. The engine will stop due to resistance as it comes up against a compression stroke.

 

Ugh, I do this. I try to fall asleep on the other side, but I often end up rolling over with my right arm up.

 

In what I'm sure was a fit of temporary insanity, my wife acquiesced to my request to move forward on my electric commuter motorcycle project. ICE is super overkill and makes no sense for my 4.4 mile (one way) commute.

Time to start trawling craigslist for a suitable donor motorcycle chassis.

 

Given recent news events, I'm sure there are more than a few lithium batteries available for salvage from all the decommissioned hoverboards.

Building a DIY electric motorcycle pretty much buys you total immunity from my mocking and second-guessing, unless you try to do something utterly moronic like take apart a Prius battery and re-use its cells.

In all seriousness, the Prius idea has merit, as there are lots of them around, and they're well-documented. Just try not to make them look like this:




Also, be aware that not all Prius batteries are the same. Some models used Lithium, but most used NiMh, which have a much lower power density (eg: they're larger and heavier for a given power capacity.)

 

I'm not going to bother doing this unless its at least LiFePO4. Both the industry in general and the technology has come a long way since I considered doing this with SLA. I had my heart set on A123 pouches for a while but now I'm not sure I want to deal with the packaging constraints. 18650 cylindricals are even more of a bitch to package so **** that noise and straight LiPo still freaks me out. So the CALB or Sinopoly style commercially package LiFePO4 cells are obviously a no brainer.



I just need to figure out if I can get the results I want from a 16 cell 48V battery. I'm scouring ElMoto and ES for real world usage cases.
