Since logging with the xede at the moment requires another pair of eyes to observe, and I don't really have the cash to spend on Alturra to watch PIDs...

Does anyone recommend desktop capture software? If possible I'd like to just capture an active window (MAF for fuel) and try to find where my lean spots are while driving. Something that takes up little resource so my lenovo can keep up (high fps, low res video)

AFR's also tend to swing... Goes rich when I give less throttle in gear (makes sense, less air)

Goes lean on the lightest throttle, minimal load (16-18), but on higher load (up hill, or cruising in gear) the lean spike is minimal or doesn't happen and stays at stoich 14.7~15.4 area. Makes me think the injector scaling is off or I need to put in values for the TPS map. Even though it controls closed/open loop.[/ramble]

 

Snaggit maybe? They have a free trial. I've occasionally use it to make instructional videos for our users who can't quite wrap their heads around guides with pictures in PDF form.

 

Protip:

While attending the funeral of the 11 month old daughter of a co-worker, do not refer to the coffin as "fun-size."

 

I've always wanted to use one of those as a coffee table with a glass top, but they cost too much new and they are hard to come by on the secondary market.

I do not. Don't get me wrong, the death of a child is a terrible thing in any situation. Though I don't have children myself, I've loaded more than my share of them into ambulances, and have had the unfortunate experience of performing CPR on them as well. Sometimes they don't come back and its ******* devastating. (I'm not EMT/EMS anything, but I did spend 11 years working/living at an outdoor site where I was more often than not the first responder for medical stuff.)

But on the subject, have you looked at the way coffins are designed and constructed? The attention to detail can be pretty amazing. Most really would make amazing storage containers for moisture or contamination sensitive stuff, if it were not for the fact that they creep the hell out of most people and they are expensive as ****.

 

^^ No, I get it. Truth be told, I actually got a chuckle out of the exchange too. I just realized I couldn't go "there" myself and then considered why that must be.

 

After going through two recent exhumations, I can say that not all of them hold up so well during their original intent.

 

Even if the casket forms a perfect seal between what's inside and what's outside, there's plenty of stuff inside of what's inside to turn it all into soup.

I don't get the whole casket thing... Just throw me in a hole and be done with it.

Same. I'm fine with a cardboard box if it makes it emotionally or physically easier to move my carcass around.

 

As my last and final increment to my carbon footprint, I wish to be cremated.



On a side note, one thing I will never understand is those who buy a fancy coffin and have it cremated along with them.

 

In many cases it's the law.

Donate your body to science. Future doctors get to practice, and they dispose of the body afterwards.

 

I think I'd want to be thrown in the furnace of a steel mill, and have whatever of me isn't scraped off as slag used to build Mk82 bomb casings. Load it up under an F-15E and drop it on some deserving goat *******.

Time to up the iron intake in my diet.

 

Federal law requires crematories to inform the buyer that a casket is not required, and that alternate containers (including particleboard and corrugated paperboard aka cardboard) may be used.

State laws as to burial vary, but I'm not aware of any that prohibit a cardboard box. It's the standard in most places for those whose internment costs are borne by the state, such as unclaimed prisoners and those buried in paupers' graves.


I'd be fine with a cardboard box. I just don't want any more than $100 being spent (total) on **** that's going into the ground with me. Unless things go horribly wrong for me, I'm sure I'll still have at least one pair of pants and one shirt hanging in the closet when I die.

Its like a murse or a laptop bag, but far more versatile and hipstery. Never in my life have I seen a medium Timbuk2 Messenger for less than $70. I've got one from the late 90's/early 00's that followed me through school and its still going strong.

 

I also have a Timbuk2 bag from the late 90's. I don't use it, though. Too unstructured, not quite fit for office use. Much prefer my Tom Bihn laptop bag.
