Why the hell is it that when somebody on a procedural drama TV show (House, CSI, etc) is running some super-important test in the lab, they have to wait for a sheet of paper to be spit out of an inkjet printer to learn the results of the analysis? Can't the data just be displayed on the monitor? This would save a great deal of time (and consumables.)

The suspense adds to the results.

'Said the ineffective drama writer who struggles to fill 43 mins with quality tv.

(building suspense)

Not you personally, but Im sure more than one writer used a slow dot matrix 'cause he had a block.

And that's another thing that pisses me off. Doesn't happen much anymore, but how often have we heard some dipshit foley editor lay down a few seconds of a tractor-feed dot matrix before someone grabs a sheet of paper out of an inkjet / laser / thermal printer?

Default God has a warped sense of humor

Do you know of any animal that does NOT have their sex organs adjacent to a means of waste removal?

I am sure that evolution would not have done THAT on its own.

ha.

So yesterday I went out to this spot we have to do a little drifto-action. Took some spare wheels I had in the garage. Was out there for like 5 hours without a problem. While the kids in their busted-*** 240s were dying of electrical, overheating and lack of bringing spare tires....I was making runs and killing it...and never had to worry about anything. I eventually found out that with just over 1/4 tank of gas, a 3rd gear slide across the lot would generate enough g's to pull fuel away from the pump lol
I also drove a friends LS3 240 and what a different beast that is. The steering ratio is lower which took some getting used to over the lightning fast Miata steering.

Fun day of getting to dick around and not worry....and after running up in the mountains a couple nights before utilizing copious amounts of grip.
