Today, in 1800, the U.S. Congress holds its first session in Washington, D.C. No one was trading on inside information.

I wonder if anyone will say anything?

Jake Niergeith at Tial needs to answer his damn phone. Everytime I either get told he is on another line and have to wait and then get sent to his full voice mail, or I get sent straight to his full voice mail. It is so annoying.

Thankuflly I got MW3 yesterday so I'll have a good time blastying that **** through the house tonight.

The majority of me says if I could afford it here on my own, I'd tell her to pack up. Not knowing whats going on is making me crazy. 'm surprised I havent broke down and got a pack of smokes yet. 14 months no cigs bitch!

I smoked for about 15 years. Tried to quit several times- never had any luck. I'm weak.

I've been rocking an e-cig for a while, and I gotta say, it ain't bad. Haven't had a cigarette in at least six months, probably more; I honestly haven't been keeping track.

Essentially, I have one of these, one of these, one of these, and some of this. (Well, when I say "one", interpret that as "several." Batteries die, atomizers burn out, and liquid gets consumed.)

The prices may seem a tad steep at first glance (especially if you look at US$95 for a 250ml bottle of juice) but in the long run, it's actually a hell of a lot cheaper than cigarettes. I started out with 18mg/ml, used that for a few months, stepped down to 11mg/ml, and am working my way towards zero.

This concept has a lot of upsides. You don't have to give up the physical sensation of smoking, and unlike the real deal, I can smoke in bars, airplanes (I confine it to the lavatory to avoid arousing suspicion), the office, etc. Be prepared to answer a hell of a lot of questions from curious onlookers.

I was one of the lucky ones that was not addicted; but my habit was four packs of Pall Mall a day when I quit cold turkey in the sixties after smoking from the age of 13.

Food tasted better, I could breath well enough to play soccer and win against my son's middle school team, and only slipped once for about a year in the seventies until I was able stop again forever.

I really feel sorry for those that are actually addicted to the nicotine.

I smoked for 10 years before I finally quit. Enough **** has happened since I quit that if I havent lit one up to deal with the stress by now, I dont see myself ever smoking one again.

My breathing is 10x what it was. I smoked at every job I ever had and doing foundation work it was the hardest. I'd smoke while I was working all day long. Winded, short of breath, wheezing, but apparently that didnt bother me. Now that I quit though I realize how bad it was.

I have spoken with a couple doctors who confirmed tobacco addiction could be worse than heroine.

In my case, I just enjoy smoking too much. I went cold turkey once for 18 months, every single day of those 18 months was just... hell.
And I thought, if I am trying to quit smoking to actually improve my life, I must be going at it the wrong way. My life not only did not improve even by a fraction of an epsilon on a scale of 0 to ten gazillion, I suffered on a daily basis.
So, I got a pack of smokes, drove all the way out to a beautiful lake (Eklutna, if you are familiar with AK) sat there, lit one up and enjoyed...

A few years after that, I went to see a very good doctor, started on Zyban, got the the patch and all the professional support I could get.
That treatment was shockingly positive at first.
The doc told me to actually continue smoking, and make no effort to quit.
On day number four, I was driving, pulled out a cigarette and found myself looking at it in horror, as if I was reenacting some weird version of Aliens, only this time the alien was the cigarette in my hand.
I threw the not even lit cigarette out the window and felt good about myself.

Needless to say, that rather expensive bit of smoking therapy lasted only 41 days.

On the evening of day 41, I was on the bathroom floor shooting cold water on myself, breaking in cold sweat and cramping from head to toe.

I said **** that, and got a fresh pack of Camels the next morning.

I started smoking when I was 12, and it has been 37 years.
I do not know if it is my genes or the fact that I was very heavily involved in sports all my life, but I can't say I have suffered any negative effects so far.
I smoke about a pack a day (just lit another one), I am the fastest one by far when it comes to climbing stairs, walking up a steep road, or any sort of a physical work.
I do not use the mile long escalators when I take the subway. I use the actual stairs and run up. I cook, and people love the stuff I cook, so out goes the theory of losing the sense of taste. I mean I could go on.
I have made my peace with smoking, and just live with it.

I will try the e-cig, tho. Sounds very interesting.

I must admit I never had it "bathroom floor shooting cold water on myself" bad, my problem is just stress. I have a stressful job, and I'm a stressful kind of person. Smoking helps me to relax. (Rum also helps, but employers frown on keeping a bottle of rum at the office.)

The e-cigarette is not an absolutely perfect analog of the sensation of the real thing, but it's pretty damned close. So I'm trading one addiction for another. Well, at least this one isn't physical harmful, doesn't cause my hair and clothes to reek of smoke, etc.

I always get pissed at PT when a smoker runs faster than me hah. I will say some people just don't seem to have an apparent negative effect. Who knows what is going on inside though.

Anyways. I think I'm going to keep my MR-S. I ******* love that car. I've been driving it while I do the timing belt on the Miata, and honestly after the ******* water pump took a **** on me as I poured coolant into the radiator I have very little motivation right now to get the miata back in working condition.

Right now I'm thinking, sell the NB after I get it all sorted out. Buy a 1.6L. MR-S becomes fun car. 1.6L becomes daily.

Actually thinking I might pick up a hard top for the MR-S. I don't really want to go with a roll bar (almost no space inside as it is). So a hard top will be a requirement to keep my man card. I'll remove the soft top for some extra room too. Down side is they are super rare in the US. Cost about $2400 get shipped in. Fuuuuucccock

Plus the Hard tops look so baller:

I do like the MR-S, but I think when I get an NB nothing will make me want to go back to having a NA for a daily.

I smoked for over 20 years and quit multiple times only to cave and start again. I quit for good 9 years ago because I was pissed off I was addicted to cigarettes, then I got addicted to toothpics, now I only use them in moderation when I have food stuck in my teeth.

I just love that first moment you realize you are getting sick. I felt fine 30 minutes ago, and then my nose started running a bit, then my throat got a bit scratchy feeling. All with in 30 minutes I went from feeling fine to knowing in the morning I will wake up feeling like hammered ****. I can feel the sinus congestion starting with pressure in my head, the nose starting to run a bit and my throat is getting progressively more sore by the moment.

And I have to be up at 4am and pull a 14 hour day.
