A company that cheaps out, then screws it's customers when cheap stuff fails deserves to die, as do the executives who made the decision. |
Yes, I read about that when I was shopping for a TV. Underhanded jerks.

I got the house!... A few months ago. I've been too busy with all those shenanigans to spend much time here, but the dust is settling so I've gained some free time.
Now, a story: This is my first house, and my first time moving out onto my own from my parent's house. When living at their house, I loved checking the mail, because many times I would receive parts and stuff that I ordered online. Now that I got my own place, I've been checking the mail with the same enthusiasm that I had at my parent's, up until now... A couple months later, I see the mail isn't so exciting anymore when you're paying all of what used to be my free spending money, and more, towards the mortgage, utility bills, and maintenance costs. Nothing cool and exciting shows up in the mail anymore. It's quite the opposite in fact. Bills, solicitations addressed to my name (Where the Hell did I sign up for this mailing address list?), and more bills are the only things I receive in the mail these days. It gives me purpose. My purpose is to not starve. |

but seriously, you'll get used to it.

I cannot wait to get another car to daily, so I can take my dash out into a field and have an office space moment with it, using a nice aluminum bat. I took the dash out the other day to try and yet again trace down the source of the rattles an buzzes I have dealt with since I've had the car. I can hear roughly where they are coming from, but with the dash out I couldn't reproduce it. I checked both the dash shell itself, the frame and everything attached, as well as everything attached to the firewall. Nothing was loose or rattly. I even went for a dangerous drive with a floppy steering wheel with the dash out, and heard nothing on that end. Put it back in, and now it's twice as bad. Three different frequencies of rattles/buzzes. When I get something else to drive, that interior is being made as minimalistic as possible, while still looking decent and being fully functional. Skin is coming off the dash, and gauges will be mounted to the tube structure. All a/c and heater components will be removed, and all wires will be tucked and cleaned up.

I'm about fed up with Google.
I see what they are trying to do, but I don't like any of it. I don't want all this shit crossmojonated, there is a reason I keep it all separate. I may make a serious effort to sit down today and try to figure out how to sanitize all these other services. |
there's a solution to almost everything addressed in that list.
but picasa is no longer, it's part of google+ now. |
This is what I get for ignoring all those fucking notifications for the last 6 months

i know i was given an option in yt to use a username instead of my gmail.com, all my subs stayed with the username and I have nothing if it tries to log me in with the gmail.com account.

were you a picasa user? signed into google? Mind you, this was just a few months ago that I was reading a Nat Geo from 1991. This is why I loved Gary's shop, and why I miss him. Old issues of Nat Geo. And everything else. |

Last time I had an unknown rattle, I took apart the panel (in this case a door) and added adhesive-backed foam tape along all possible contact points between the various pieces. I'm sure that 90% of the foam tape wasn't necessary, but it was easier than actually trying to isolate the source of the rattle. Just use enough so that everything fits back together tightly.

I'm not sure if I was a Picasa user (I don't think so), and I have no idea how that image got there, but I know where it came from. I took that picture with my phone while sitting on a comfortable old sofa at Gary's Barber Shop in San Marcos, CA, shortly before a car came crashing through the front wall of the shop. I took the picture because there was an article in that issue that I wanted to track down later.
