Every year for the past decade or so, I've helped out in a small haunted garage project. Mark's Haunted Garage I help make props, and (except for last year) stand in as a live actor. Mark gives out full size bars to encourage visitors as well as keep a count of the number of visitors.

Ok, someone with an 01-05: Does the driver side power window switch have a "notch" or "detent" in it when you depress it past a certain point to get to the automatic part? Pass switch would lack this.
I've been cleaning crusted coffee and **** (god I hope this is chai or mocha) out of this switch all morning and I'm trying to figure out if I'm done or not

So I'm all ready to re-bang this machine with Win7. I've got the install disc prepped, I've backed up the paltry amount of data on the C: drive that I care about, the media drive has been disconnected (just in case), and I'm just about ready to pull the trigger.
The final step, just prior to the re-load, is to go to intel.com and download the latest drivers for the motherboard. Puzzlingly, when I select "Win7" from the OS dropdown, I see only one option.
Then, when I see what that option is, I understand:
Grrrrrr.

Bummer for Joe. He is reinstalling software on Pandora's box.
If I remember, yes it does have a resistance point for auto.

Funny story. When I was in college (mid 90s), some friends and I had the idea that we were going to start a computer company ala Michael Dell, and name it Pandora.
That way, any time someone needed to service or upgrade one of our machines, they would have to open Pandora's box.

I'm about to say "**** Lenovo" as I'm not seeing anything that makes them different than anything else on the market. Back when they were still being built by IBM, ThinkPad T series were paragons of durability. I ordered 10 new Lenovo T430s' last month and I had 1 DOA and 2 warranty return/repairs in less than 3 weeks. I'm going to start exploring my options with Dell and HP.
I'm hoarding parts to keep my T60 & X60 running FOREVER.

This. I did give in and buy a budget machine by Compaq maybe 6 or 8 years ago, and it was complete ****. It now fills the role of parts holder. The case is opened up and is filled with a bunch of old boards. Been building my own machines for the last 8-10 years, and never had a major issue with any of them. Somehow managed to have no RMA's or parts failures either, except one hard drive recently.
