If FEMA had the bicycles, would it fund Hustler's manlet bib?

I saw pics of Trek, Deceuinck (Spec), Sunweb (Cervelo). Dimension Data (BMC), Bora (Spec), Mitchelton-Scott bikes with discs from Stage 1. Not the whole teams but a few here and there. Probably others as well.
Meanwhile, how about those crosswinds? Look at the angle of the lead rider to the pavement. Crikey

Initially yes. Now mechanics can change a through axle faster than a Q/R. Some teams are using tiny impact guns and bolt on axles so it's like car pitstop. No need to manual spin the Q/R handle, asses the right point to close it. Wheel doesn't have to be on the ground. Brake doesn't have to be opened to clear tire. Many reasons why a disc bike can be just as fast. My Cervelo comes with R.A.T Q/R's. Very fast 1/4 turn, but just as bulky as a Q/R. So I'm converting to bolt on axles.. because I'm an aero geek.

For this year, Bora-Hansgrohe, Deceuninck Quick-Step, Katusha-Alpecin, Trek-Segafredo and Dimension Data are on discs only. There are also a few other teams, such as Sunweb, who run it on their aero bikes, and the climbing bikes still run rim brakes. I can't find the video now, but there was a video going around of changing the wheels with impact guns like Emilio said earlier. In a podcast with a mechanic, they are saying they can change disc brake wheels in 12 seconds now, just took them some time to figure it out. The main problem now is with neutral service, in that they need so many different wheels, especially with the new Sram design.

Hopefully this will usher-in tubelessness. I'm still ignorant to "road tubeless working properly", up until now it appears most road tubeless tires are super stiff and don't seal well due to high pressure. I've been running tubeless Spesh Roubaix Pro 30/32s on my CX bike in road duty for three years and it's been flawless, but I run 50-60psi in those rather than the 75-80 that I run in my 25mm road rubber. I am eager to buy a couple sets of the new Vittoria Corsa tubeless tires.
Also, the GP5000 TL looks to be a really good tire, I'm excited to give that a shot at some point this year.

GP5000 Tubeless
I have been on road tubeless for almost 3 years. Maybe 15k. Had rub Schwalbe Pro One 25c on my TT and road bike. Good experience overall in terms of performance. The weakness of the Pro One was tread cuts. I had many. Often needing to toss a tire before it was worn out due to cuts and big holes.
Small holes always sealed up nice and quick. I use Orange Seal standard. No ammonia and seals very quickly. My 25C Pro One were huge. Measuring 30mm on my 21mm internal width China carbon tubeless 45mm wheelset. So Ioved the way they rode, the grip, low rolling resistance and seal healed little holes but got tired of the constant threat of big tread cuts ending the tires life prematurely.
I have since switched to the new Conti GP500 TL and I can say simply, that road tubeless technology has taken a big step with the GP5000. They do everything better than the Schwalbe.
My review on roadbikereview: https://forums.roadbikereview.com/wh...on-366895.html
What has blown my mind was that the GP5000 TL 25c measured 27mm on the same wheels, significantly smaller than the same size Pro One.. but rides significantly better. The bit of marketing spiel from Conti about the extra layer of stuff to absorb vibration? Yeah I ignored that. Now I go back, re-read
and understand why they hyped that feature. Oh and, I have not had one flat or noticeable tread cut in 3k. Most of that 3k on wet roads covered in grit, rocks, and whatever else flushed off the roads into the bike lane during 3 months of storms.
I raced on tubulars for many years. These GP500 ride just a supple but are like 5x more puncture and cut resistant than any of the Vittoria's or Michelin tubs I ever ran.
P.S. The GP500's are stoopid expensive.

I’m in Albuquerque for work. Rode on Wednesday and cut two tires, had a total of three flat tires. I had to make some decisions so I paid full price for some Bontrager AWS 28mm road tubeless tires. Not terrible, a little numb compared to the Corsas that came off but I had to do something if I wanted to ride.
Here is a gallery from today’s ride:

I’m struggling a bit with the elevation but enjoying the ride, just looking for some solid z2 and tempo riding.

That all looks oddly familiar hmmmm. They used to sweep the road the first Monday after the ski area close date. I think this winter broke the DOT haha.
Sometimes I sit on my front porch and watch the cyclists go by for my morning coffee and daydream about having multi hour blocks of time to exercise again.

Nice climb there Trey, looks like a real lung/leg burner.
I did a think 2 days ago and placed an order for a X01 build Santacruz Megatower in FS Green. Looking forward to mobbing terrain and making poor life choices on that thing. Also, hammer out a few rounds of the California Enduro Series this year on it. Stoked!

When do you depart from clippy shoes to regular shoes in MTB-ing?

Cold AF. I had to stop twice to sunbathe and warm-up. I had a great descent a few days later though, passing cars, going pretty hard, was like third out of ~10 cat-3 bros.

Entered a stage race
Back before I started 949 racing all I did was race bikes. I had done this stage race a few times in the past. Since getting back into bike racing a few years ago I really had not done any road racing so I was a bit rusty and unsure of myself. That said, I have come off probably my best winter ever and I just have some stomping form. So I decided on a whim to do the San Dimas Stage Race. Uphill TT, Road Race than a criterium.
Check out my activity on Strava: https://strava.app.link/JAEpfeEtwV
2nd in final GC. Won the green points (sprinters) Jersey and also won the road race with a 4km solo break. My 55+ category raced together with the 45+.
Beat them all in the road race, third overall in the crit, second in class. Thinking I might do a few more road races this year
On the attack at the top of "Heckler Hill" in the road race. That's what 550w for a minute looks like.
Green jersey in this video, my 55+ category racing with the 45+ category. I shoot down the left side right before the last turn to finish 3rd in the crit, (2nd 55+)
