If they don't offer you a refund I'll let you know about their "Experimental" disc I'm supposed to get tomorrow.

the part that bothers me the most is a know of a few miatas out there that aren't having any issues. Specifically Neo Gen's old car, first it had the Ebay F1 kit on it, which is a clutchnet 6-puck and "green" level PP. then he went with a 3X red and 6-puck. no shims, no issues. I drove it on both clutches, it worked. I wish I could get it to work, it was great for the 5 days it did work, however, I reached my breaking point, so even if this thinner disc they sent brad works, which im sure it will, i dont wanna deal with clutchnet products anymore.

How many times have you had the tranny out of your two Miatas at this point? How quickly can you do a clutch change now?

this will be the 5th between the two...not counting when the engine itself was out. when i dropped it to put the shims in, took us two hours on the dot. this included dropping the exhaust, unbolting the DP, removing the interior bits, etc.

I got a double spring pp from brainstorm in Cali with the center bore in the springs too large so the t/o bearing fit thru the bore. I wonder if it was built by clutchnet... That one didn't disengage either.

I filled a need for a group buy when Sam's ACT one fell apart.

Sorry to hear all the problems. I hope I don't curse myself but I have a 4 puck 3X red PP and in the last two weeks I have done two auto-xes a all day Drift event and last Friday went to a 1/4 mile drag strip for 15 passes. Mine is working just fine.

No shims. But it did have to move the slave to almost the end of its travel for it to work. It was an area never used in the slave before (rusted and such) so I pulled it and cleaned it up good and its still not leaking so I guess I did good.

If that disc works I'll keep it. I'd rather not have to send everything back if I don't have to. Keep us posted.

when he pulls it you'll get proof or not proof that it was the shimjob

I just have a feeling the shimming isn't the underlying cause of this problem. Considering even with the shims mine isn't even close to fitting. Today will be the day of judgement, as the "experimental" disc is supposed to arrive. Stand by for updates tomorrow.

When my spec died, there were a bunch of pieces wedge between the pp springs and the disc that kept it from disengaging. The truth awaits us.

yeah, i remember those pics. if my new clutch gets here Friday, ill have it open Saturday. however, i don't expect to be dropping it until the 10th. I dont expect damage like that, Im more inclined to find the shift fork separated from the TOB.

ok well here's the disc they sent brad. you can tell right off it's different, the "wings" are less dramatic, they shaved 2mm by using a thinner plate. so now it's 6mm in total vs. 8mm. hopefully it's enough. disc is on it's way to the shop as we speak.
