Yes, I would recommend having someone take a look at it. There's a lot of stuff that can be in a cat bite, even more so in scratches. Puncture wounds can also be particularly hard to clean. See if your normal doctor has any openings or head to an urgent care center (not an ER).

I hate all of you.
Goaded on by fear, I called the doctor's office. Receptionist told me to "come in immediately". I was there by 4:00 After waiting for his regular patients/appointments, he saw me about 4:30. Immediately, he prescribed antibiotics. I take the first one tonight, and continue for 5 days. That's the easy part.
Because I have no way to capture and quarantine the cat (not sure where it lives), they have to assume it is rabid according to CDC rules. That means shots. Lots of shots.
I get 4 in my hand tomorrow. Interspersion, they call it. I get another in my butt. Then on days 3, 7 and 14 I get two shots, one in each arm. At least they don't do it like they used to, which was 6 injections directly in the diaphram.
All of you can forever lament the fact that you missed the golden opportunity to let me die in pain.

jeezzz.
Just going through the last 2 pages of this thread i missed, i was thinking. This thread is one of the only things that brings true happiness to my life. Then i see the last few pictures, and i'm terrified.

I don't know what it's going to cost. Not like you can say, "No thanks, I'll just die in one of the most horrible ways immaginable".
Sure, it's highly probable that the cat is not infected. I'm probably not infected at all, either. But the alternative is, once you get the symptoms, it's too late. You die. Not a bet I'm willing to make to save a few bucks or avoid the needle.

Update. You guys will like this, it involves me being in a lot of pain. Especially that sadist bastard Braineack.
When I got home last night, the pharmacy called with "an urgent message". I called back, and they were confused because the script for the amoxicillin was called in with the rabies vaccine, and they don't carry it, and weren't certain they could even give it to me. I assured them it was a mistake. Just the antibiotics, please.
So, I worried all day, and went in for the shots at 4:00. Shot in the arm (first dose of the vaccine) was nearly painless. I thought, "that wasn't so bad". Then the doc brought out this needle the size of a toothpick, and 4 inches long. I kid you not; this thing was huge. Bigger that the ones they use to draw blood. That was the one to go into my hand.
12 ml, which is a lot. About 4/10 of a shot glass, or almost 3/4 cubic inches. In the back of the hand. The stuff was cold and thick, and it felt like liquid fire going in. I clenched my teeth, and said I was okay, and he did it again. And a third time. About this time I experienced a "Vasovagal attack" which is a fancy way of saying I nearly passed out from the pain.
They made me lie down for about 15 minutes afterwards. My hand is balloned up like a cartoon character. I have to go back in for shots in the arm 3 or 4 more times. Thankfully, no more in the hand.
Word to the wise: if an unknown animal bites you, kill it and have it tested. Much easier and less painful than being treated.
