Default Programmers / Developers / Nerds

After weeks of on/off tutorials and reading I've come to the conclusion that there's absolutely NO WAY I can make my app alone. I tried like hell to teach myself but I just don't have the time or patience to continue.

I'm 50% done with the content for the app and can have the other half finished in a week. The actually app itself only needs to be a scrolling list with some type of picture viewer and a camera API. I have been dicking around with xcode trying to make it, but I just cant figure it out.

I would imagine that for someone that knows this **** its probably easy, but unfortunately the idea has a short time frame in which will make or break its popularity. So even though I'm eager and willing to learn, I just don't have the time to right now.

If any of you guys are interested or can forward me to a 3rd party company that you have experience with, please let me know. This isn't the next Angry Birds or anything like that, but I do believe it'll be an easy seller nonetheless.

I was working on the iOS app for iphone/ipads, but eventually I'd like it to work for others as well.

The current stable release is aemOS 8.4 "timid tarantula."

(What? No, it actually is a funny joke, you just have to be familiar with Ubuntu in order to care. Trust me, you should chuckle.)

Seriously, though. If you mean an AEM EMS, they (like most other ECUs) don't run an OS. The software is simply compiled directly for the target hardware.

If you mean the tuning software for an AEM EMS, it's available only for Windows.

If there's some other definition of am "aem computer" that I don't know about, then sorry for the wasted bandwidth.

Vash, wish I could help. One suggest I might offer would be to try posting an offer on Guru.com. It's a service that matches up people like you (who need some small piece of work done) with people who freelance doing that kind of stuff. They take a cut and handle all of the financial stuff.

Thanks Joe. I checked around some of the app developer sites and its hard to choose one out of the bunch. If you have good faith in guru.com I'll check it out and see what it looks like.

I just got my first quote for $5000. lol

The company that sent the quote just signed up today as well and they have no prior jobs listed, so I'm guessing its spam.

This is my job description I posted;

"I'm currently working on my first iphone app but I don't have enough experience programming to make what I have in my head into xcode.

The app needs to be a scrolling list with a picture viewer that pops up when the user selects a choice from the list. The main app is really just a list of 100 pictures that the user can scroll through and choose from, then secondary its a way for the user to take pictures and keep track of them.

I hope to find someone that can help me with the framework and point me in the right direction to fill in the blanks afterwards. I'm about 50% done with the content for the app and can have the other half finished in a week."

$5000?

So I just checked my guru account and I have 8 quotes ranging from $25 to $5000.

This past weekend my gf and I went out for some drinks with her co-workers and come to find out the Indian guy I was talking to is a ******* programmer and has experience with apps. Here I am looking to have someone from across the world help me when I potentially have someone right here!

I'm back to work on the app and if all goes well I should have it finished by the end of the month. My brother keeps giving me **** and telling me that I need to have a deadline and stick to it, so I'm trying for a June 1st finish date.

The only reason I'm working on it again is because I found a way to make the app right on the iphone and export it to x-code as code. In one night I got more done than I did in 6 months of on/off playing around with x-code.

Afterwards everything will need to be fine tuned and packaged like Apple wants, I just hope they don't take long to approve it once I submit it. Fingers crossed!

I've been on the phone calling around looking for some help with this but so far no luck. Everyone wants to make it a 160hr+ project and its not that kind of app.

The code I've been using is great, but working with xcode itself still has me going out of my mind. I cant get **** done!!

I wish there was a halfway decent way to create and publish a BASIC app, without having to be a god damn scientist!
