Completely awesome. If you are following a car at 60, move out to pass and lay on it you are doing 85-90 when pulling back over past the car. And no jarring downshift. It just moves. I'm pretty sure it would run with a new mustang from a roll. Maybe losing but not by much. With a chip? No contest.

OK, I was wrong. It does. I have to RTFM (when I get one)

Also, had my first catastrophic failure this week. Water pump took a dump in Fayetteville AR.

Had to be flatbedded to the nearest dealer which fortunately was in Rogers 25 miles away.

Got there at 1:00, they had it replaced, washed, vacuumed and did brake fluid flush and replaced cabin air filter and was out of there by 4:00.

Total cost including tow $0.0

Still sucks that I lost half a day and it was the first time I have been completely stranded by a vehicle and had to be towed. Ever.

wow, we live different lives. I've had half the cars I owned either on a flatbed or pushed by high school buddies. sup with that.

any updates on real world gas mileage? seeing some nice 335i xdrives for sale in the 2007 model for just around 30k.

Just checked yesterday. Still averaging 28.6, mostly highway but quite a few WOT runs passing as I drove 6 hours on two lane road because the interstate is still closed.

I do love following someone at 60, rolling it on and touching 85 when pulling back in after passing. It's pretty stout for a stock car.

And another thing about the no towing thing, I figured it up yesterday. I've driven 523,000 miles since I started working here 16 years ago.

In 6 different real DD cars, not counting Miatas for fun cars, I have had exactly one warranty repair and one non-warranty repair TOTAL in that 16 years. This doesn't count maintenance items that I have done myself like brakes or bearings.

Wow, can't believe a water pump would go on such a clean low mile car. At least warranty covered it. Any idea what that pump would've cost outside warranty?

I kinda read over his shoulder of the work order on the warranty submittal copy. Not sure of the total, but there was a comma in it.

A shitton.
You don't buy these cars without a warrantee. Period.
Unless you're clinically insane or have more money than you know what to do with.

Factory head is $7,500

Replace two turbos $6,400. Of course, that includes labor.

My friend's mini cooper s uses bimmer parts. His ecu took a crappy, and the replacement was $1500 I think. I recall him needing a head gasket at one point too, don't know how much that was though. He did mention his BMW coolant was like $50/bottle.

BMW coolant? WTF. The only BMWs I want to own are early 90s ones. While they were still relatively simple.
Does your 335i come with retarded run flat tires that are like, $400 a pop?

Coolant is actually rated as "lifetime" coolant so if you don't puke it, you should be fine.

Yes it has RFT. They are actually $200 on Tire Rack. As part of the CPO they put brand new ones on it so I'll drive it for a while. Next year I'll probably go to Hankook RS3's. They have them in my size for $107 ea. Everyone says that it rides much better on real tires. I'll have to buy a spare. Someone figured out some 18x5 wheel with a 185/70/18 that works for a spare and takes the minimum trunk room.
