PS - Last I checked BEGi has it's own airstrip and FM doesn't.
I don't know Corky from dammit. if he posted on here like she does I'd say the same things to him. I don't know this Corky god that you seem to hold so dear. If you look at everything I've posted on this subject you will notice I don't kiss Begi's or FM's ***. I could car less. As long as they make a good product that I need I'll buy from either. My gripe with stephanie is that she likes to talk **** about others in the industry. Industry professionals tend not to publicaly bad mouth the competition, (except in the miata world I guess). She does it everey chance she gets. That's my point and alwasys have been. The comment about not affording a dyno, I really don't know what they can afford, it was just a childish BS comment similar to the kind of crap she was spewing.

Well, I am against banning you. Just because you have a dissenting opinion you shouldn't get banned.

I think, if you notice. Companies just find themselves attaching to different boards. FM bashes others results, or will simply state that their product is superior all over the M.net boards.

Stephanie is a person just like everyone else. She feels the environment is confortable here and that she can be honest and express herself with us. It's no different than if we were all just hanging around the shop and she said "has anyone seen what FM is up to? come here...look at this we just got shipped this today!"

Whether we like Begi because they come here and are open about stuff, or whether it's the other way around and the come here and are open about stuff because we like them is hard to know. However, there's no reason to get upset at her and start bashing on her for expressing her opinion. We are mostly a DIY forum here anyway...

I have seen several other forums where there is "company drama" the difference is that usually whoever is the larger sponsor just keeps it all hush, and essentially kicks the other company out of the community. FM products will continue to be sold, it doesn't matter who is providing a more competative, or better product. They have already established themselves at M.net, and people treat them like the miata boutique. They are a fine company that does decent work, but there are other options, whether cheaper, better or not.

It means you should go **** where you eat. Don't follow her back here and start throwing **** around. Stephanie has been very professional, as professional as any other vendor I've seen on M.net and here. I think your peanut gallery commentary is uncalled for.

I only addressed her here when she posted my comments from another forum here. I never would have said jack here if she hadn't brought me here by posting my comments so her and her minions could have more to make fun of. I was perfectly fine ending what I had to say on the other site. If you think her behavior is professional than so be it, I don't have too. I think she acts very childish and says the **** that she does here because there are so many people here that jumps on her bandwagon and give her attention...she seem to really like attention.

While I do think all of this is getting a touch out of hand, I want to insert some facts into this discussion. The first turbo miata I ever drove was an FM kit. Ever since then I wanted a turbo on my car and I did all my research on M.net. This was not a bad thing as there are a lot of relatively informed people there but, just like all websites, other people decide to let their fingers to the talking when they should walk away from the keyboard. Or at least learn what silly things like sentence structure and punctuation are for

I purchased my kit from FM a little over six months ago. I had dealt with FM for about three years before buying my turbo. After all, I bought my roll bar, brakes and their springs. Only since buying the turbo kit have I started to become disenchanted with their company. Until recently (I will get back to this), I didn't have any problems with the components in the kit. I did have serious problems with the lacking instruction manual and instructions that were obviously not written for someone that has never installed a turbo kit before. Venting the pressure in the fuel system was on page 13...

Anyway, other than some nits, the install went fine and I was perfectly pleased with the kit. After about a week of running the car, the coating on the manifold and outlet casting started flaking off. I know some of you don't care about this, but after spending over $5k on a turbo kit, damnit I don't want anything flaking off!! I contacted FM about this and they agreed to replace it but weren't willing to do much more. So I was offered a small discount on upgrading to the ceramic coated parts. I agreed and they sent me the parts you see on the Begi website.

Obviously I was not happy. It was dirty, casting lines everywhere and I really didn't want to reinstall it. By now my wife is starting to get really pi$$ed about spending all this money for crappy looking parts. And she isn't even a car person.

Begi to the rescue. They offered to fix something FM obviously thought was fine to ship out. One good thing about it, at least you can read the entire "Flyin Miata" logo on the manifold. The other one had half of the 'y' missing So I sent my parts to TX for a cleaning and a 10mm bolt upgrade at the same time. They finally look like I think it should have the first time.

So yes, those are my parts and those are my pictures. If FM didn't want the publicity maybe they should care about the perception in the marketplace instead of just their profit margin. Hopefully, I should be able to put it all back together tonight, but if one more thing goes wrong with this kit, I swear my wife is going to explode. While I am not happy with FM, these are the facts of the matter and I am not bashing them in any way. If the other forum was not so reactionary, I would have no problem posting any of this there. All I can say is that I give serious kudos to Begi for supporting and repairing an item they didn't even sell.

I will make sure that anyone who asks me about the kit at our miata events knows the full story and they can make their own mind up about who they might want to send their hard earned money to. Peace.

This is like the pot calling the kettle black. How can most here be critical of someone for going on to another forum and starting ****? If I found out that someone was making comments (legit or not) about me on another forum I would go and confront them. As would nearly anyone here.

Stephanie is an adult, she doesn't need a bunch of tools e-thugging for her. And you certainly don't speak for all the members here, wrong forum indeed.

And just because one vendor (you decide who that is) starts slinging **** doesn't excuse the rest of them for doing it.

Meh, I have had one transaction with Begi and it ended with me calling 2 weeks after I ordered to find out my order was "misplaced". Nothing was done to compensate for their mistake. I would have thought expedited or free shipping was called for, but wasn't given. All the vendors are looking at profit margins. I think all vendors need to "do the right thing" when it's their mistake. I would certainly hesitate to order anything else from them. I read about as many "FM parts flaking..." as I do "Begi fitment...", so they both have issues.

You stuck your nose into an argument that had nothing to do with you over there. FM flaunts some pretty horse-**** dyno figures on a regular basis, and this is no exception. (I'd really love for someone from FM to explain to me how they take a setup awfully similar to Paul's 99, dump 2psi off of his number, and come up with ANOTHER 20whp.) Suddenly your panties are all in a tuft when Stephanie finally calls them on it? Let them argue, bicker, debate, shoot themselves in the foot, whatever, but don't be surprised or pissed off when they come back here to laugh at you.

Edit: Just reread that thread to make sure I wasn't talking out my ***. Stephanie and Keith are aggressive, but never to the point of unprofessionalism. It's a heated debate through to page 4, and I would expect nothing less from the two biggest turbo Miata players in the industry, but hardly what I would call unprofessional.

So there is a debate going on a site I am a member of, and evryone else is commenting, but I'm not suppose too? OK, that makes sense...and for the record, FM attempts to ignore here on that site. Since I've been there, that is the first time I've seen them address her directly in suck a stern manner. As far as professionalism goes, apparently we have a different standards. And you are making an *** of yourself defending you girlfriend. I at know point made no comment that FM's numbers were this or that. Go back and read some more.

msydnor, your problem is you don't own a dyno.

BEGI & FM & FFS in a nutshell:

all three make mistakes, errors, etc.

BEGi: becomes aware, resolves it the best they can to make the situation right.
FM: tells you they are aware of a problem and go about their day and forget all about it.
FFS: argues a duck is a chicken.

I'll called both FM and BEGi for parts, advice, phone sex...there's a reason I hardly deal with FM anymore.

where did all these power-bottom queers come from? Seriously, why are you here when you could be trolling the poz-neg forums for hand-ball pigs?

I agree for the most part on most of what you stated. Don't know much about FFS. I've bought most of my parts from FM for the miata because they had what I needed when I needed it, not because I cater to one or the other. When I wanted a DP, I was going to go with Begi but they didn't have the one I wanted in stock. I don't have an issue with either company as a company. FM messed up my order once but acknowledged it and compensated me without me even asking. It really was no big deal to me. This is my first miata. I delt mostly with domestics and european cars over the years. I'm not use to seeing venders call each other out publicly. As an example, in the mustang world which I have spent a crap load of money, some turbo companies are less than desireable. They catch crap on the stang sites for all kinds of stuff, mostly warranted, however, other turbo companies generally don't jump in and toss fuel on the fire. I know when I was doing research on which kit to buy non of the venders would comment on the other companies. The reply was usually, "I don't like to bad mouth the competition." Local shops, which we have a lot of here in NC, almost never fling crap at other shops, in many cases you know they know something, but unless you know the guy well, they are reluctant to say bad things about the other shop. Up until this thread I would have bought parts from BEGI. I was about to buy an Xede, but from Stephanies conduct, I get the feeling that if I had an issue with something, she would let her personal beliefs get in the way of her professional obligation. That may not be the case, however, I don't know her personally so I wouldn't take the chance. Additionally, I've seen her post stuff that I no is BS and she stands by it. As an example, she claimed that one of their DP's made X amout of HP over an FM DP (significant amount). She was called on it because there was no baseline done with the vehicle before they removed the FM pipe and installed the BEGI pipe, and she clearly stated that they did some tuning after they installed their pipe. To me and most, the increase could have easily been attributed to the tuning. She insisted otherwise. IMO, that instance was no different than some folks here calling BS on the FM correction factors.

Bottom line, I don't have a favorite because I have not been in the miata world that long. But I can say you guys do things different.
