I have a friend with an ATS 2.0T 6sp and he loves it. No issues.

Does he run a tune or anything? Wondering if that will kill the clutch. I know that it is some kind of Derivative (stronger or weaker idk) of the LNF from the Cobalt SS days. And tunes + couple bolt ons transformed the car.

Holy smokes, those are cheap. Wow.

Is anyone else surprised that those cars are now in their 4th model year? Time is going by way too fast...

Cadillacs have always had **** resale. Just take a look at how cheap a 2007 DTS is. Those things were pricey as **** new. Like 50k to 8k and these ******* are full of carpathian leather and rich mahogany. That said I have looked at a used AWD ATS for the wife off and on myself.

I have a 2010 335i 6sp sedan with a plug and play tune and I like it a lot.

2010 is the first year of the face lift and iDrive updates, but last year of the n54 twin turbo motor (much more tunable).

$300 gets you +100whp.

Damn, i didnt know these dropped in price that much either.... I had a cobalt SS turbo back in the day as well.. this is pretty much everything I wish that car was.. $100 for a tune (if you have HPTuners) gives you another 90whp..

How are those reliability/durability wise?

By the end of the year I'm hoping to get my girlfriend out of her stupid Smart car that is falling apart around her.

I'm starting to like this thread, I never even looked at the caddy 2.0 Turbo, and now having researched them I still don't like them/am not impressed but realized that there are a lot of cars out there that are interesting/improving that I might potentially consider in the future.

I'm actually kinda sorta in the same situation as OP, will need a 4 door / 5 seater in the not so distant future.

Not much point in investing that much thought in it for you since you'll only keep it for 15 minutes anyway.

Oh, come on. He keeps it for at least a full day to register and detail it. Then he sells it.

We didn't sell that many but I haven't seen any come back in for major repairs. Only things I can really think of at the moment is that I've seen some issues with haptic seat motors (seat vibrates if the parking sensors or lane detection go off) and usual gm radio issues.

Well, then you're in good company.

I revise my advice.

Buy that GTI, so I can buy it from you in a year.

How about a Lexus IS-F? Those are starting to dip down to $20k; I bought mine a year and a half ago for $21.5k and it has been a riot. 5.0 liter V8, 416hp, Bilsteins & Brembos from the factory.

Took mine to the track a few weeks ago and had a blast.

Cool car for sure, but it seems like a rare car in SoCal and I'd be looking at a 2008 with ~120k miles on it to slip under $20k

Is a fly and drive an option for you?

I purchased a 1991 318is this way, and my old 2008 V8 Limited 4Runner.

In the case of the 4Runner it was necessity. I specifically wanted an 06-09 4WD V8 4Runner Limited WITHOUT the air suspension. During the time I was looking to buy there were only around 30 for sale in the entire country.
